thanks bro. I think it's worth it.
can we terminate existing policy by calling hotline?

i usually just cancel the giro n let it lapse .. not sure if that's the proper way :(

I also thought of doing this way 🤣 Think no pay premium will auto lapse the policy, correct? No experience ...

Paisay, ask u one more question.
This 8.8 promo is 20%off premium +$60 cashback or $60 cashback?
check the applicable website. will say how to cancel.

For cancercare is there a minimum period to hold the policy or can cancel anytime? I read the FAQ and this is not addressed

can cancel anytime, but if the purpose is to clock towards dbs multiplier then can keep for 12 months

if you had used a promo code like the 35% discount for 1st year promo, you need to stay for 12 months:

---

From TnC:

If a Qualifying Customer cancels the Qualifying Product within the 14 days’ free-look period or if any of the policies lapses or is surrendered within 12 months from issuance, Manulife reserves the right to retain/recover the amount equivalent to the Premium Discount.

Does anyone have a copy or link to the DBS Manulife 7.7 promo T&C?
Website doesn't seem to list it anymore.

not sure if i missed it in the tnc or faq or not touched on, if GIRO via non-DBS will it still qualify as a qualifying transaction for unlocking the insurance category from 2nd month onwards?

since the 8.8 promo requires to hold down for 12 months for the gift would you think it's safe to pay on annual basis as i see there's also a 3% premium discount for annual? Any potential issues i need to note at the end of 12 months? just only concerned abt the last mth (12th) not counted upon cancelling plan.

Are you able to set up giro via non DBS?

well a judgement call on whether after a few months if there’s something much better that is worth cancelling and have the promo clawed back

I will go for mthly for flexibility. Just in case DBS Multiplier change their terms and it is more worthwhile to cancel and forfeit the rewards and move the money elsewhere.

but wouldn't the crawl back hurt more? like not just the 20% discount but also the $60 cashback.

that already kinda dissuades me from cancelling before the 12 mths...

i've an existing cancercare at 11/12 and i'm just gonna pay the 12th mth even though I'm signing up for this 8.8 promo for TermProtect (which is much cheaper). kinda 'wasted' one month of cancercare but it's better than cancelling and crawling back the past 11 mths of 35% discount, right? or am I missing something

it's a judgement call...

if say sometime down the road... another bank offering is going to be much better than all the discounts and cashback combine + more.... might make more sense....

can't predict what will happen in the next 12m

Hope my steps are correct. :D
My B&E shows 11/12 for cancercare, and ive paid the Jul premium.
Today I deleted giro arrangement (effective termination date is tomorrow), tues will follow up to call manulife to cancel.
I applied cancercare on 8th aug 2020 so shouldnt have any issue with the t&c on holding the policy for min 12 mths.
My premium usually deducted around 16aug, hopefully not too late in cancelling.
Meanwhile, i signed up the termprotect today as well for the promo.

Those cancelling are probably not on cancercare but other products without promo when they sign up.

Your Aug B&E shows 12/12? Judging from your steps, it seems that you should terminate cancercare in Sept after Aug premium paid? Correct me if i am wrong as i am also not so sure on this.

Again, Insurance category not showing up on Bank and Earn Summary...
Anyone too?

For the record, i bought termprotect on 07jul so aug should be the 1st count.

But it's not showing again.

I don't think you're the only one.. mine is also not showing up as early as it used to be. last month it only showed up at 2nd half of month, near 20th?

dunno why DBS decided not to show the insurance eligible transaction earlier since it is recognised for the previous month's payment (i.e. June payment recognised for July, July's recognised for August, etc.).

Eh my b&e for last month(jul) shows 11/12. This month(aug) also not updated yet.

Haha im also not very sure if i got the timing right, so I went to check my statements for how many premiums ive paid since aug 2020 and jul 2021 was my 12th payment. So i decided to cancel.

Oh i am same as you since i also bought the insurance in Aug 2020. The B&E is not showing and causing confusion.
