How do people break even on the annual fee, without counting the air miles?
- free 1 night hotel is worth about US$100 because it's hard to get a really good hotel stay
- dining benefits are not so good, the Accor hotel restaurants are mostly overpriced and average
- airport lounge is not worth that much, often crowded and full at peak times and only open for passengers with actual business class tickets
- ordinary air miles rewards are low compared to the specialized rewards cards

I use the DBS Vantage cc as a general spending card, in addition to my UOB Prvi Miles Amex card.
UOB Prvi Miles Amex card offers 1.4 miles per dollar spent, and once I reach $50,000 spend within the membership year, I will receive 20,000 bonus miles and the annual fees will be waived.

When comparing to specialized rewards cards that offer higher mileage rates such as 4 or 6 miles per dollar spent, the DBS Vantage (1.5 miles) and UOB Prvi Miles Amex card (1.8 miles inclusive of bonus miles) will still stand out among other General spending credit cards.

I like both their annual fee waiver feature, once I reach $50,000 to $60,000 spend per membership year, I don't need to ask for any waiver.

Ultimately, the choice of the most suitable card depends on individual preferences and spending habits.

Why do you need other people to justify for you?

If you don't get benefits worth the annual fees then don't get this card.

I applied for this card when it was newly launched around June 2022 and I think I pestered them about the 30k points = 60k miles signup bonus back in Sep. They said it'll be credited a month later but I don't seem to see it in my account. Any good way to trace other than Paylah app? Seriously a very awkward way to see credited points by having to use another app.

You can try digibot.

Type "rewards" in digibot once you log in. Then click appropriately and select "points per transaction". Not sure if your bonus points will show up since its been a long time.

I have DBS Vantage but the only good reason to get it is the 80,000 bonus miles for new-to-bank applicants.

The free hotel stay is hard to use, you'll be lucky to get more than US$100 value out of that. Don't expect one night in Raffles Hotel.

The Accor Silver tier membership is possibly useful. They have "red hot" hotel deals and you could get a good 5-star hotel rate in a secondary destination. The Accor hotels are generally top rated, but you won't get big discounts on bookings. There's a very limited number of 50% off for two deals for Swissotel, Fairmont and Sofitel Singapore restaurants but they are mostly average and overpriced so 50% just takes you to ordinary low end fine dining price.

The other dining rewards are not worth paying for.

Lounge access might be worth a little if you value it, but do you really arrive at the airport early just to sit in the lounge?
Thanks bro so can only use the 1.5 mpd benefit but the one night usually can't use?
