One key consideration for me, Asia miles you have to stop at Hong Kong, I prefer direct flight from Singapore. :) hope that helps.

Is Asia Miles better than krisflyer? I see Asia Miles can redeem hotel and car rental too. And expiry is 4 years compared to kf 3 years. Only good thing about kf is 15% discount on miles

Asia miles are same rates as krisflyer without the 15% online discount so you need more miles to redeem. Good thing about Asia miles are the low fuel surcharge compared to SQ. And Asia Miles does not penalise their partners airlines like krisflyer so you can easily redeem on BA, quantas etc.

You'll find that the redemption rates for hotels and car rentals are very poor. They can also be redeemed on any OW airlines. From Singapore, apart from Cathay, you can also fly on Qantas, British Airways, Sri Lankan, Finnair, JAL, Qatar, and MAS.

I agree, Asia Miles have more redemption options compared to Krisflyer Miles. So best to leave your miles in your credit cards until you decide you need to use them (or when expiry is near).

The low fuel surcharge (or none at all) on CX is very attractive. You can also use Asia Miles on those Oneworld airlines for those destinations that SQ does not fly to.

I only transfer to Krisflyer Miles if redeeming SQ flights.

Comfort masterpass doesn't work for me.

Are you sure? Comfort masterpass is explicitly stated to award 10x points on the card website https://www.dbs.com.sg/personal/cards/credit-cards/dbs-woman-mastercard-card

Quite true but sometimes the savings on the fuel surcharges beats the 15%.

Right, I'm usually looking at those longhaul flights.

I also did not get any points from comfort masterpass. But did not want to make a big fuss with dbs.

Going to Europe via qatar airway actually use lesser miles than krisflyer. I think that's the main sweet spot for asia miles. For North America both programs are about the same. Intra asia, sq is definitely better with the 15% saving.
