For online transactions , every $5 spent = 10 DBS points.
Is my understanding correct?
Once the transaction is posted, you will earn 1 DBS point for S$5 online transaction. On the 15th of next month, you will earn additional 9 DBS points for that S$5 online transaction, subject to that you have not purchased more than S$2K of online transactions for the month.
In the latest DBS paper statement, the attached DBS woman card flyer says men are welcome to apply.. Ha. Must be they found out majority of users are men.

Can I find such statement online?
P.S - at least if I were to sign using this card,I can "argue" back![]()
HHonors Gold has a better chance to get you upgraded to executive floor where you are given executive lounge access. Even if not upgraded to that floor, you can still enjoy complimentary breakfast and internet access.
Free internet is becoming quite popular across many programs, even for just signing up without actually having high status.
The big feature to go for is lounge access, this is the main one. That's why I prefer the Swissotel program (can also credit stays at Fairmont) as once you reach even the middle tier you will always get free internet/breakfast/LOUNGE ACCESS regardless or what type of room you book.
Now if only DBS were giving this away along with this CC...![]()
Only problem is that Swissotel's stable of hotels don't have a wide reach like SPG, Hilton or Hyatt.
Depends on where your travels take you. If someone were to come to Singapore then the Swissotel beats all three of these chains hands down, with SPG not even being a serious choice after they lost the Le Meridien which is now the Concorde.
Of course Honolulu or London will be an entirely different story, but then in Berlin the Swissotel is perfectly-located and in Canada you have the Fairmont which is linked to the Swissotel chain so loads of options there.
SPG has the W Sentosa (ok, not really a business hotel, but it's nice.) and the upcoming Westin in the Marina Bay Financial District.
Hilton has the Conrad, which is on par with the Swissotel and Fairmont.
I quite like the Hyatt actually, but may not be the most convenient location for business travellers.
Looking at just pure coverage, it's really tough to go past Hilton, but again, depending on your travel destinations, other programs may work for you as well.
What would be nice is if we had all those co-branded cards (like in the US) which offers mid-tier membership level. That way, I can just sign up for all of them and stay at whichever hotel I wish.![]()
Getting back to the Conrad, the Pan Pacific next door just shifted its restaurant from the roof-top round thingie and now has their lounge there. But unfortunately their program also doesn't give lounge access due to status. Does the Hilton program offer this? The Fullerton does if you reach the high tier, though their range of hotels is limited.
Has DBS ever offered any other hotel status promos in the past with operators other than Starwood?
At Diamond level for Hilton, lounge access is always given.
BTW, the hotel promo is being offered by Mastercard. Any World Mastercard holder (not just for the Woman's Card) would be able to sign up for the promo and got the status.
Hilton is saved by the Conrad, but in general I prefer the location of the Swissotel The Stamford (the lounge is like on the 60 or 70th floor and is higher up than the Marina Bay Sands skypark!) or even my favourite of late which is the Swissotel Merchant Court (smack between Clarqe and Boat Quay and next to the purple MRT line that takes you to Harbourfront/Sentosa).
I used to stay at the Le Meridien numerous times in the past, but SPG is a very poor program and I never received an upgrade from there. Of course no lounge access for status-holders completely disqualifies a hotel program imo as it's the best perk you can possible receive.

I used to be with SPG for many years and if all it takes is one stay with a MC then I might as well do it again, especially if it's a prepaid rate that I can pay online to get max points. Does it specifically have to be a World MC like the Women's card or any MC?
