Got a question. Do Singtel bill payments through their website (Singtel MyBill) allow us to get the bonus points?

I read through the thread and found different answers. One person said he/she didn't get the bonus points, a few others said they did...

HHonors Gold has a better chance to get you upgraded to executive floor where you are given executive lounge access. Even if not upgraded to that floor, you can still enjoy complimentary breakfast and internet access.

Free internet is becoming quite popular across many programs, even for just signing up without actually having high status.

The big feature to go for is lounge access, this is the main one. That's why I prefer the Swissotel program (can also credit stays at Fairmont) as once you reach even the middle tier you will always get free internet/breakfast/LOUNGE ACCESS regardless or what type of room you book.

Now if only DBS were giving this away along with this CC...

Depends on where your travels take you. If someone were to come to Singapore then the Swissotel beats all three of these chains hands down, with SPG not even being a serious choice after they lost the Le Meridien which is now the Concorde.

Of course Honolulu or London will be an entirely different story, but then in Berlin the Swissotel is perfectly-located and in Canada you have the Fairmont which is linked to the Swissotel chain so loads of options there.

At Diamond level for Hilton, lounge access is always given. At Gold, it is only given if your room is upgraded to a type that includes lounge access. I have not stayed at the Conrad much, but in other Hilton properties in this region, my upgrade track record on Gold is very very good.

BTW, the hotel promo is being offered by Mastercard. Any World Mastercard holder (not just for the Woman's Card) would be able to sign up for the promo and got the status. I signed up for this using my Citibank Rewards World MC. I didn't think I would be staying enough to bother with the status so I paid with another card that was offering better points. I was still given the Gold status for a year.

I personally feel that SPG and Hyatt has been good to me over the past years with a guaranteed upgrade every time I stay and suite upgrade vouchers to boot. But yes I agree with Suleyman that it would be nice to have a card that offers a mid tier status without having to try and clock X number of nights every year at the chains.

Citibank is also promoting this as part of the Prestige card's 'benefits'.
