currently i'm rounding down my purchases to the nearest 5 to calculate the points. is that correct?

The 1X points and 9X points are calculated differntly. Search for Trazora's detailed explanation in the DBS Altitutde Thread - I think he wrote it there last time.

The 1X points and 9X points are calculated differntly. Search for Trazora's detailed explanation in the DBS Altitutde Thread - I think he wrote it there last time.

I'll try my best to explain.

In your monthly statement, you will see a column Earned/Adjusted. This actually shows the 1x points for all your spending in this STATEMENT (note: NOT calendar month), PLUS the 9x points for the previous CALENDAR MONTH.

The formula to calculate 1x points is (where $$ is the spending):

=ROUNDDOWN(($$/5)*1,0)

The formula to calculate 9x points is (where $$ is the spending):

=ROUNDDOWN(($$/5)*9,2)

The 9x points for the previous CALENDAR MONTH is summed up then rounded down to nearest whole number before being added to the 1x points for this STATEMENT and reflected in the Earned/Adjusted column.

To give an example, I get my statement on the 27th of every month.

For September statement:

Spending / 1x points / 9x points
29 Aug - $172.57 / 34 / 310.62
5 Sep - $82.89 / 16 / 149.2

For October statement:

Spending / 1x points / 9x points
26 Sep - $156.15 / 31 / 281.07
4 Oct - $115.5 / 23 / 207.9

So for my October statement, the 1x points will be 31 + 23 = 54 and the 9x points will be 149.2 + 281.07 = 430.27, and the points listed under the Earned/Adjusted column should be 54 + 430 = 484.

I hope this was clear!

It'll be easier if you can identify which transactions didn't get awarded the 9x points, and get them to check on those.

Just press F1 in Excel and see the formula syntax help:

Syntax

The ROUNDDOWN function syntax has the following arguments (argument: A value that provides information to an action, an event, a method, a property, a function, or a procedure.):

Number Required. Any real number that you want rounded down.

next month i might not meet the $2k cap for wwmc because i need to shift some of my expenditure to another card for its bonus, so i will find out and report back on the calculations for 1x and 9x.

currently i am always above the cap by a little, hence i only get 3600 bonus points in the next month and am unable to comment. but i know for a fact that the 1x is rounded down to nearest $5 before awarding any dbs points.

No idea why 2 and not 0, but I found out that this is how DBS calculates. And doing this, I've managed to reconcile all my points so far :)

2 just means 2 decimal points. Yes I also use the same formulae to calculate the points

I just realised that November is coming to an end and will need to quickly use up my DBS WWMC quota for November. The question is - does the DBS WWMC count it based on the date of the transaction or the date of posting?

btw you guys can call dbs (and all other banks) to "calendarise" your statement periods so that statement month = calendar... will make a lot of the discussion and calculation above more straight forward.

DBS WWMC is based on calendar month actually. But I've already made most of my cards the same date already.

Anyone tried ezbuy with this card? Is it considered online?

Or any other card like citi rewards, singpost? TIA

Has anyone noticed a change in the posting dates for the rewards points?

My latest statement (dated 14 Dec) reflects the same number of DBS points available as the ibanking rewards page (checked 16 Dec). I *think* the statement now includes bonus 9x points for spend in Nov, but not 100% sure (the change in dates affects my workflow - previously I could just subtract the difference for the 9x points).

Anyone knows how it works now? Or is this just me? =/
