you are definitely right.

got into a weeklong ibanking to-and-fro with dbs cs rep who repeatedly told me i was awarded x2 on posting but yet blindly copy and paste me the old TnCs when i ask if there was any changes to the TnCs since it contradicts.

it took me throwing a fuss on how brainless their replies were before they finally realized and said that they will be updating the TnCs soon and that it is in fact official.

Mentioned before but got denied. Still staying true to my calculations of 2x bonus awarded for overseas transaction, balance 7x bonus on 16th.

90% discount for both SQ and CX if your child is under 2 years.

For CX, child must be less than 2 years on both the outbound and return trip.

For SQ, child must be less than 2 years on the outbound trip, but can be over 2 years on the return leg. SQ is a bit more flexible in this regard.
Not true on the 2nd count. SQ counts per sector. If your child is above 2 on the return sector, you'll be asked to buy a commercial ticket. This happened to me before

I stand by what I've said as my son was over 2 on the return leg.

Was your return leg on a separate itinerary?

Interesting! Sounds like it makes it slightly more troublesome to check bonus point awards. Do you just check for 7x overseas + 9x local bonus on the 16th, or do you calculate for all points awarded in between?

I just change the formula from *2 to *9 under my bonus column in the 16th,for overseas transaction.

Yes, DBS also said same things
local transaction get 1x, overseas transaction get 3x

at 16th, additional point = ((sum local transaction)/5 * 9) + ((sum overseas transaction)/5 * 7)

nb : sum transaction should be rounded down

late reply, but still having fever.

also, one thing to note is WWMC now awards the x2 bonus points for overseas transactions on date of posting. not reflected in TnCs yet, but already in place.

it used to be x1 + x9 for all online transactions, and now it is x1 + x9 for local online transactions and x3 + x7 for overseas online transactions.

so if you max out the 2000cap per month on online transactions, you won't be seeing 3600 on the 16th but a lower figure, as the x2 has already been given during posting for any overseas online transactions (assuming you are not one who reconciles your points everyday).

so does overseas online txn mean more points for customers?

$1000 local spend = points?
$1000 overseas spend = points?

$1000 overseas spend = points?

both give u same 10 points as long as it is online transaction but rewarded differently

when transaction posted

$1000 local spend = 200 points (1 point per 5$ )
$1000 overseas spend = 600 points (3 point per 5$)

additional point at 16th next month

$1000 local spend = 1800 points (9 point per 5$)
$1000 overseas spend = 1400 points (7 point per 5$)

No lah, Should be *2 changed to *7 for foreign online transaction

Cause i maintain only 1 line per transaction in my excel. So i just amend the formula from *2 to *9,then adding the base points to give me 10x. And yes, omitted the online word in my reply previously.

Makes you wonder why DBS go to all that trouble.

A cynic would say it is to make it hard for customers to reconcile their points in case they (the bank) make a mistake in crediting. However, they don't realise that customers will often contact the bank and in turn, make them do more work to reconcile for them. Many man hours wasted.

Citibank is the best - bonus points posted together with main points with a periodic breakdown instead of lump sum. Think of all the man hours saved by their staff!

Thank you!

If only 1 line then shouldn't you be using x10 points? Thought it will be neater to have 2 lines for points credited, one after the transaction posted and one for points credited on next month 16th

I do this, but 1 line per transaction broken up into 2 columns. Initial and bonus points.

1 row with $spent, base points, bonus points, total points. At the16th just update the bonus cell from *2 to *9. I don't want my list of transactions to be so low that i need to scroll alot of times (mobile opening Google sheets)

ok, whatever works for you. :) Think maybe can use base points as x3 and bonus points as x7.

i believe thats the case as well. which is why i keep a close look on my points and do not hesitate to write them for a breakdown. and idk about you guys, but i have had wwmc and altitude for about half a year, and i find an error (and retroactive credit from them) at least 50% of the time so far.

Not a single error so far, been using since they launched it in 2012. Did have to make a couple of calls to verify the calculation formula, and everything was okay since then. Although I'm very mindful about the transactions themselves, would avoid any cases of potential miscredit in the first place instead of trying to get banks to retrocredit after.

Although doing this means I have to spend a little time thinking through, as well as keeping track of all my transactions.

thats odd then. ive had a handful of times where they have miscalculated, and "we will credit xxx missing points within 2 days". sometimes on my altitude, sometimes on wwmc.

grab also seems to no longer register automatically as online txn, and ive had to send in e-receipts for my grab rides last month. uber still registers as online though.
