I think now without fuel surcharge it makes redeeming for short trips also ok

Last time if redeem economy to Taipei. Need to pay charges of $300+. Now just pay $50+ dollars

If we use on average $1 can get us 2.5 miles ( using 4mpd DBS woman and 1.2mpd Alititude visa. for some transactions)

A flight to Taipei will be 30k miles. , or you spend about $12k

A normal flight on SQ will be around $500

500/12000 = 4.16%. Still much better than most cashback cards where you have to hit min target to receive more cashback.

Sometimes I want to use promo ticket to do a comparison, but always too lazy to do the exact calculation myself.
Flight ticket is getting cheaper so do our miles. So if can redeem better redeem fast.

Yup, am kiv-ing until tomorrow. I got bonus points but are lower than expected. Tries to figure out which transactions were excluded but unable to tally.

Just to update. Wrote to dbs and they awarded the missing 9x points. Grab is still excluded though.

If I have 10000 points on dbs altitude and 5000 points due to expire on dbs wwmc, if I want to transfer those to KF is there any way to make sure that I transfer only the expiring points?

So just make a transfer of 5000 will do.
Anyway, each transfer need to pay 20'plus.

Points that expire first will automatically be redeemed first.

Yes. Coz inside krisflyer account, miles still can last 3 years.
For dbs woman's, just maintain the habit of transferring once per year to save cost.

My FF membership is coming to an end in June 2017. Likewise for the DBS points. Am thinking if i should convert the entire dbs ww expiring points since effectively my last transaction will be expiring in one year time. Just gotta plan for a trip within the next 3 years.

I try to calculate manually and it seem like it is a few miles off from the miles show on statement.

Below is example of my calculation without involve bonus:

foreign spend,
SGD 55.88, x0.6 and get 33.528, then round down to 33
SGD 126.07, x0.6 and get 75.642, then round down to 75

local spend
SGD 14.2, x0.2 and get 2.84, then round down to 2
SGD 71, x0.2 and get 14.2, then round down to 14

Total point that i would get is 124.

Am my calculation as above correct? Hope someone can enlighten me... Thanks.

For foreign spend, try round down to nearest $5, x0.6 and round down the points to nearest whole. Eg

Between, the bonus calculation also follow the same rules? Only foreign spend need round to nearest $5?
