I don't get it too.

What's a better option?
The point is with DBS not awarding points for all amaze transactions, the earn rate will be much lower as people use other credit cards. With wwmc's short expiry of 1 year, it becomes less economical to spend $25 per year to convert points to miles.

I think I might get what you mean

Basically, it would be more efficient to get say, get 2 X 1k limit cc (UOB PP and Citi reward) instead of DBS since DBS requires U to spend 25sgd annually for point conversion while the other 2 take 3 and 5 years respectively. Even though that means 2 times conversion instead of 1, it is greatly offset by the point expiry date.

For me, I have DBS, hsbc Revo, and those 2. People like me are trying to max out the miles so it makes sense. Though I'm avoiding OCBC 4 miles card due to their not-so-simple MCC issue.

So what other card do you recommend over WWMC that is as straight-forward? With WWMC, generally, any (most) online item will just get awarded, and don't have to think so much like split over quarter, or certain hotel/flights (UOB) or MCC. I haven't been taking notes for long time now.

wwmc still good for online spend esp. travel related that is excluded on Citi rewards. Amaze+Citi rewards mastercard is better but only limited to $1k spend per month. Anyway different ppl different use case just use whichever cards work best for u.

Given the current nerf, I doubt amaze + citi is longer to last any much longer as well. So if that is also out of the game, what else is good for local spend?

You could have used UOB Preferred or HSBC Revo to get 4miles/$ on contact less. This will cover most offline transactions.

How do you feel about having multiple stack of CC to earn points all around? Sometimes I feel it's easier to consolidate, otherwise, the splitting might be difficult to track also.

I don't have any UOB/HSBC banking so abit reluctant, so want to read up more first. Although, on first glance, seem like UOB one is better?

Ok upon further reading, seem like UOB is a must

well each card has their pros and cons... Better to use one card over another depending on the use case.

That's true. Do you know if UOB one contactless include those grab/panda food order, or are those consider "online" for UOB to get the 4mpd?

It capped at 1k per month, I think I can switch my contactless over to get 4mpd over 1.2mpd using DBS Altitude and would be worth it. Continue with WWMC for online spending

uob ppv mobile contactless means adding card to mobile wallet (apple/samsung/google pay etc) and tap on paywave terminal. Grab food and Foodpanda should be counted eligible online spend under the dining and food delivery. Refer to https://milelion.com/2020/07/06/review-uob-preferred-platinum-visa-card/

Note that uob ppv cons is there is $5 block for uni$ points earning and uob$ merchants excluded from uni$

If I get you correct, those listed under the uob$ merchants will not earn the uni$ points right even if it's contactless spending?
So If I go to those stores listed https://www.uob.com.sg/personal/cards/cards-privileges/uob-dollar.page then I should not be using this card right?

How come this card UOB Preferred don't get much buzz if it's 4mpd ah for most contactless spending. Or is it because I'm too outdated. Especially since most are 1.1-1.3/4 mpd for retail/offline spending

This card is coming up to 10 years old & pretty much never changed since the day it was released. It's like one of the most basic cards you start with when starting the miles games so I guess everyone sort of assumes everyone knows about it & there's nothing else to say about it...

I have this card for many years, there was a change, now only mobile contact less, it used to be all contactless a few years back if I remember correctly. I paid everything with my phone so no difference to me. This card doesn't need to leave the house anyway.

Yeah I saw before a family paying at a restaurant using the UOB PPV physical card. Heart pain for him
