He (milelion) has updated the article with a response from DBS saying that the points awarded for the original transaction will not be voided & that the T&Cs will be updated shortly to clarify this.

Last I checked during last year, it wouldn't allow..

1st wasn't available when i contacted them via chat. They had only a few dates to pick from. 30th was the closest to 1st, so I picked it.
