Nope, in all likelihood, you just had DCC applied and the surcharge should be coming.

However, the experience of some folks on this forum indicate that SCB waives those charges so maybe not.

You tried?
Somehow I used the card for Ezlink online topup, it only got 1 point for every $5. So what is exactly defined for online purchase?

have u wait for next statement for the points top up?
this is how it works.

I thought about something. If paypal is considered online transaction, technically you can top up your paypal account with this card (max of $2000 a month) and then withdraw the $ to your bank account? The service charge is a couple of dollars only iirc.

'Topping up PayPal' should mean use account direct transfer.
Sending PayPal payment by cc is free but receiver involves at least 3% fee

Hi bro, thanks for the clarification. If the fee is only 3%, I think it's quite worth it to use CC to send $ to my paypal account. Ie. I send 2k to myself and incur a fee of $60 upon receipt. And 2K would be equivalent to 8000 miles. So technically I am just paying $60 for 8000 miles? That works out to be $7.50/thousand miles.

Just tried to transact, estimated cost is S$68.50.

Paypal doesn't charge for withdrawal right?

BTW, can anyone confirm if all transactions need to be rounded up or down to the nearest $5 before we get 1x + 9x points?

Found the below in DBS Rewards T&C:

2.8 DBS Points awarded in the first year commencing from the date the Card Account is opened ("Account Open Date"), shall be redeemable only during the period of up to 12 months from the date the Card Account is opened (which will be reflected as the expiry date on the Credit Card statement), failing which the points will expire and be reduced to zero. Points earned in each successive year will expire a year from the earned date, with the exception of DBS Treasures Black Elite American Express® Card, DBS Altitude American Express® Card and DBS Insignia DBS Points, which will have no expiry. For the avoidance of doubt, points that have expired cannot be used under the DBS Points Redemption Programme and/or transferred to any loyalty or frequent flyer programme as DBS may from time to time make available in conjunction with the DBS Points Redemption Programme.

Can anybody confirm the first line?

how do you try out? where to see the estimated cost of S$68.50.
for Paypal's topup, is it under My Account -> Top Up?
how come i can only see tab of DBS/POSB and Other Sg Banks then direct you to bank site to for ibanking?

for DBS alone, under its "Top Up Paypal", it seems it din allow you to pay out using CC, but a/c only.
