Ideally there should be no change in points being rewarded for transactions until July 7th as DBS is expected to provide a 30 days notice for all changes in TnCs. If they don't reward 10x for June transactions, will have to raise a complaint with MAS.

MAS does not mandate this

DBS shld just be upfront to say previously XXX transactions were considered online, but now such transactions are not

to avoid further mis-interpretations of their replies & also their T&C

what's so difficult ?

They are saying there is no change to how DBS points are awarded. Meaning no difference from before TnC is changed to avoid misinterpretation..

i tell u their statment is as good as no reply, if they do read here.
the term if u think further is no use.
even the cso reply is better

no difference is providing points, not merchant. big big big difference

True, but ABS code of consumer banking practice requires it. Refer 9 b in the link below.

http://www.abs.org.sg/docs/library/code-of-consumer-banking-practice.pdf

Whether ABS code is mandatory is a different question, though i'd think dbs would not want to fall foul of it.
That abs tnc dun seem relevant or applicable as it is very specific, not talking about cc promotion tnc.

Read this tnc in the general tnc section of DBS woman card promotions:

3. "DBS may vary these Terms and Conditions or suspend or terminate the
Woman’s Card Promotions without any notice or liability to any party"

So be conservative or do it at your own risk!

How is it "specific"? In fact, its so generic it covers all consumer banking services. Credit card is also a service.

Agree, each to their own. July 16th will be next date to watch out for.

At the risk of stating the obvious, just accept that this golden goose is cooked and gone. You are welcome to argue your rights and what DBS can or cannot do, but the reality is that they have a bunch of well-paid lawyers who drafted the T&Cs to protect their position and made sure they are able to do what they want without contravening MAS regulations or any code of conduct. If you think about it, it is therefore not surprising why all official comms has been crouched as clarification & not change of T&Cs.

Honestly, given how indiscrete members of this and the flyertalk forum are, as well as the glory seeking bloggers talking incessantly about using this card with prepaid cards, it is a surprise this has lasted as long as it did.

Perhaps you might think I and other old-timers are selfish for no longer sharing on this forum, but the reality is that a lot of what we do to maximize miles earning is not in line with how the banks had envisaged their cards to be used. When it is not well known, not many people do it and it skirts under their radar. When everyone starts talking about it (or hinting about it or trying to be clever and thinly disguising what you do with obvious nicknames), many more people jump on the bandwagon and the same transactions appear on multiple people's statements, you can be sure their analytics will pick it up and the bank will close the loopholes.

Anyway, going to take a little bit of my own advice and /rant off. For my old buddies (you know who you are!), hope you are still enjoying those flights in the pointy end of the plane. :)

You are so right. Some people (or maybe just one pax) even brag about how they earn points in the "not so correct" way. Data analytics is the in thing nowadays and slowly banks will close all the loopholes.

It is indeed a surprise it has lasted so long, although the $2k "damage limitations" might have helped, and perhaps some have assumed (wrongly) that it will go on forever.

I've always thought that this wouldn't last long, so I've already shifted quite a lot of my earnings elsewhere (although my spending pattern is quite weird). Now my prepaid card has expired and it has not been replaced, and with the renewal for my WMC due next month, it most likely won't be renewed either. All the fun and parties will eventually have to close when too many people get in.

Received the mailer saying any DBS card the spends amount above 2k will get 5.88% cash rebate from June to Aug.
I am wondering is this the best card to use for this promo after they killed the loophole?
Will you use this card or any other cards?

This mailer is a targeted promotion and I had received it too. Therefore I will continue to use my WWMC card clock the 2k spending till August, since I got nothing to lose.
