If I want to redeem business for long haul, I think I need at least 3-4 years before I can redeem.

By then, the miles game may change a lot already. Give and take. I go for cheapo eco to travel more.

Don't mind me saying this but if u need 3-4 years to redeem for 2 long haul Biz tickets, then you're much better off chasing cashback cards.

Is your spending that low, or are u not using the right cards for specific spend categories?

85000 / 3 = 28000 sgd.

Already on the high side for me. Perhaps every year you spend around 40 to 50k on credit cards.

Ok. I'm spending much more than that. Around $130-150k per year. My dad spends on a supp card under me. Last year, hit almost $200k due to medical bills for 2 aged parents. (Mostly getting 4mpd due to SamsungPay promo).

I think I prefer travel young with more cash saved than to throw all in one single flight. That is for me, coz business and economy for me not much difference for my Japan flight.

Different people difference preference.

For me, 3-4 years to hit 300 plus k miles is already like mission inpossible coz I am those prefer to redeem once a year, going to a suitable destination for sightseeing purpose.

Already redeem Japan flight tickets and Germany flight tickets, so feel good! even if you redeem economy for sq, the feel good factor is still awesome.

Dont need to slave for miles if u cannot spend (which is a gd thing unless it's corporate spend or the equivalent).

Dont 4get quite a significant of ppl born in 80s n before only took plane when budget airline started picking up..not to even mention F J classes; count ourselves fortunate to be born in this era where this century old invention has become relatively cheap.

If one is gonna redeem economy, paying cash is so much better especially with all the promo fares flying around these days.

For redeeming in biz,post devaluation, there is no more value in flying sq to Europe or North America anymore. Unless one really need a direct flying, asia miles option is more value for miles either via CX or their oneworld partners.

That's true. But flight to hkg is very short, not much time to sleep also. There are some flights that are using the a350 actually but it's still prone to rotation.

For North America, Jal can be an option as well.

Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse has a complimentary haircut service for J/F pax, while BA Elemis Travel Spa has massage services. Etihad's J/F pax (including redemption) provides chauffeured ground transport on both sides. You need to pick carefully and shop around

Have not explored beyond SQ for miles redemption. Time to check out other options now.

SIN-HKG on business (CX) can be had for 20K miles + $50ish, one way.
That's one of the best deals I know of at the low mileage range.

If a380..i usually climb e stairs to stretch my legs n mingle with fellow passengers or SQ zeh zeh
