Can use vbox to pay corporate account
It requires account number. Which is the same for 2000 other people.
Do you have personal experience doing it?
You are not wrong. There is only one reason to get this card; if you frequently transact online for those things that UOB Preferred Platinum Visa excludes (eg, air tickets, phone bills through VBox).
Based on your use case, that does not seem to be your case, so you are definitely still going to be better off with the PPV card.
Affirmative, that the reason why I stick with PPV and Altitude and splitting expenses between them depending on transaction type.
If it doesn't earn 10x then you shouldn't even use this card. Using a DBS altitude make more sense. You can charge phone bills and SP bills to DBS altitude to get the points for redemption too.
As above. Phone bill will be attached to Altitude once I spend the $1500 I put using AXS station before they cut off points generation using bill payment.
Charging your ezlink spend to DBS women's and the rest to DBS altitude, you should be almost there, isn't it?
Not really. See below
Moreover get the ezlink imagine card, top up the Amex purse using DBS women's so all Amex spend also get 10x points.
If I understand above correctly, is this pre-paid AMEX card (in addition to EZlink facility) which can be topped off using credit card? If yes, does not it generates charge fees on both AMEX and credit card processing company side?
Don't tell me the only thing you ever pay for are ezlink+hp bills+SP bills. NTUC? Dine out? Purchase things online and in store? Surely you are not that frugal until you don't spend at all.
Ezlink takes $200 or $300/mo - depending on month. Grocery/food expenses are in four places - Giant (appx 60% of expenses, all via EZLink, every week), FairPrice - appx 20%, using PPV (one a month to buy cerial/bars/milk) and the rest on Phoon Huat or Redmart, that's via Altitude. While for Redmart you can pay online, I've done it only once in 3 month and that was $100, so no pattern here.
That card would really make sense if my corp phone can be paid online via vbox, but I do not see the way now.
While there are online purchases, that are exclusively in US $ and I really do not see the reason why should I switch on DBS card and pay extra charges when I have Chase card which gives 3 UA miles per $ spent.
Bottom line is that 1 year expiration period for points is too risky - you might end up buying/spending just because to make 10K points at the end that I really do not like - when I am forced to buy something I do not need.
P.S. Dining out is done in local hawker centers and no, my wife does not buy handbags - she makes her own.
