i'm using a 6 cell batt for my 640m and it doesn't 'stands out' as u mentioned,but i'm not sure about 9 cells though...

I intend to buy a 1GB DDR2 ram for my Dell laptop, the total amount of ram after the intended upgrade is 1.5GB. Is it OK to use this configuration? I know that I may not be able to utilitise the dual channel but does that mean the performance of the laptop will decrease?

It will be ok, mine is also 1.5GB ram. Runs better than just 512MB

Suggest you make a complete backup of your drive before you start messing with the partition.

You can backup with the trial version of Acronis 10.

Don't forget to make the Rescue CD so that you can recover should you run into trouble.

I bought 1GB Kingston from Sim Lim and add it to my 512MB Dell by myself.
It's easy.... less than 3mins... unscrew the cover, slide RAM in, screw back cover.

Diavonex does that mean that everything on the drive will be deleted once I started the partitioning?

Oh and is the following scenario normal?
The hard disk has some audible cluttering sounds that it makes when it's "busy" ie loading stuff, defragmenting

Should I contact Dell on this?

EDIT: Everything is nice on the new lappie, only the HDD sounds that's driving me crazy dammit...

There should be a setting in the BIOS to reduce the noise level of your hard disk.

Hi Guys, gt a question in mind as the PC show is approaching.
I wants to do ASP, ASP.NET server side programming.
Should i choose Vista Business over Win XP PRO?
So far, xp pro sails with ease. I am afraid some kinda problem will occurs with Vista Business.
Anyone can comment on this.
