Some user review from US seems pretty good for M70. Not sure of the M20 though. But depending on your use, do you need a workstation graphic card?

Hi guys, I wanted to get the dell 700m/510m basically quitting games and getting more work done However when trying to do up the configuration via internet ordering, i realised the pricing of upgrading parts with Dell is really an overkill, is it possible that we get the basic configuration and proceed with our upgrade of HDD or ram? Basically this 2 parts which I'm really need a bigger size. Any helps are appreciated.

urrr u mean get the basic laptop spec and then buy the HDD and ram yourself? if you can find cheaper price at SLS or elsewhere, i dont see why you shouldnt...

ram no problem. as for harddisk, pls swap the original harddisk back when u send it for servicing.

dont overclock the ones in laptop as the heat may really go up and the chips in laptops arent optimised to handle overclocking.

am using a 600m too..personally find the hdd space of 30gb is too small for my needs..wonder if its possible to upgrade the hdd to something bigger..will the speed and size of the new hdd cause any problems ?

I did heard before people saying that the hdd that comes along with the laptop are the optimized kind for the laptop...changing it to something higher might overheat or cause the parts to wear off faster...any such things ?

Really feel like upgrading the hdd in my 600mb to a 80gb drive and make the 30gb as a portable hdd.
