Ok brothers. Those who purchased recently, meaning that they PAID for their laptops recently, at most 2 weeks ago, the new batch of Dell notebooks comes with a Remote Control to interact with the Media Player as well as for controlling volume. The previous batches, meaning to say the XPS's at $2499 and those bought more than 2 weeks ago, do not have the remote control included. Dell happened to just decide to include the remote control in the recent batch. :) I was surprised when I saw the remote control in the new boxes because I myself didn't expect it.

what is the exact date? i bought mine at the IT show for $2399 on 9th march, but collected it only on 15th march. so does mine come with a remote control or not?

btw my laptop recently began to emit this high-pitched noise which sounds like the mosquito ringtone but at a lower frequency and volume. when i put my ears near the headphones jack i can hear it very clearly. also, i find that this is a bit dizzy-inducing, should i call up dell on this matter?

Thanks :) will there be any warranty issue if I change OS? of course it's a licensed version :D
haha go ahead lahs software side rarely voids warranty. my sister's latitude is running on another OS too, and last week when she sent for repairs, the warranty was still accepted. i heard there's some issues with the sound drivers so you must find your own after you go to xp though ;) it's should be common so it shouldn't be a problem finding it
