previous point solved the problem.

Prices will keep dropping online. But Dell is not that keen to drop prices in retail because they have already "sold" the laptops to Courts. So the responsibility is handed over. Fixed specs at Courts. Totally different processors if you compare online and Courts.

hello there. i am having some trouble with my dell inspiron 4000. i have two lines on the screen already, but occaissionally the screen also begins to flicker black, sometimes staying black for a couple seconds at a time. also, a few days ago i was watching a video-stream and the screen began to pulse white, then back to normal, then white again.

i turned the computer off. the next day, it was working just fine, but it still flickers black or sometimes other colors, but nothing as severe as what happened during the video.

any ideas on what might be the issue?

Try downloading the newest Bios or graphics card drivers. If not, it's probably a screen issue or wire connection.
