if you feedback to the cust service officer, normally they will send down ram first. technician will change for you...

most likely is because of dust collected at the fan...

the last time the technician came to pry open my laptop he found something astonishing... my fan clogged up with dust. after he cleared the dust it was running 8degrees cooler... from 50 on idle down to 38-43 on idle.

just to add, my gpu is idling at 40. so you might want to call dell and tell them about overheating issue.

something wrong is going on with the temp program, i update again.

Hi,
I am running on CPUID v1.12.

Booted-up (idle) temperature: peak around 65
Normal use (surfing): 70
Running a movie (w/surfing): 76-77

I dont have freezy screens or hangs as of now.

Thinking of contacting Dell Support for this.
Anyone to provide more information too?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
70 degree on idle, 90+ on gaming.
Does your laptop feels hot? Mine does, with hands on keyboard. A little warm.
Yours is Quadro? Mine is XPS.

I just chatted with Dell USA CSR. Apparently, he is trying to smoke his way thru, unintentionally or otherwise. Dell workaround is for the BIOS to spin the fans faster.
Saying, BIOS v14 (latest) has the fix for this. I asked why is this not reflected in the change history. He says it not updated.
Then I mentioned, that I did some research on GPU over-heating and mine temp was over 70 degrees.
He then back-tracked and offered to send a technician down.

Irritating etiquette.

Anyway, I will be raising a case to Dell SG for this.
If any other XPS (1330) users care to share their temp ranges (idle/working) too.

Thanks all.
