I am new to the forum... My Dell inspiron 6000 arrived last night

Have one quick questions for other Dell users that have a widescreen laptop - do the icons on your taskbar look distorted?

My screen res is 1920 x 1200 and the icons on the taskbar all look distorted... kinda ugly.

Not able to find any solutions online. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem? TIA...

I'm using inspiron 6000 too. Yeah it's kinda long but then my icons don't look distorted leh. Anyway how to turn off the monitor ah? Wanna leave my lappie on overnight to download stuff

Have u visit the DELL's support site? Try download the latest/update driver for your lappy. Download any new updates for ALL your devices.

I realised there is a small icon (Dell support) very time I start up. Is it good enough?

Have u visit the DELL's support site? Try download the latest/update driver for your lappy. Download any new updates for ALL your devices.

No luck searching on dell's support community forum. There are ppl asking the same question (resolving distorted taskbar icons on a widescreen laptop) but no answers... ;(

Since this laptop is new, I expect it to have all the latest updates from Dell already.

does dell ship during weekends?

i ordered a desktop (9100) and the person called me yesterday and told me they would ship it today 2-6pm, but look at the time now, its bloody 8pm and no sign of anything.

i cant call anyone cause all their CS hotlines are down, and i can only email and hope for a reply like tmr or much worse, monday.

I swear im going to kill someone soon. I need to know what happened to my com! I took a day off to wait for my delivery~!

Looks like we are on the same boat.

I ordered my Insprion 6000 on the first day of Comex 2005. Till now I've not received it! I called them on Thursday (8 Sept 2005) and they realise they've entered my contact number wrongly (thus wasn't able to contact me)! WTF (I checked my invoice and the number was correct and can't they even email me?)!

Finally after some calls here and there by customer service we fixed a date for delivery today (10 Sept 2005) between 9am to 1pm.

Took leave today to wait for their delivery. Time check: 12:30pm... give them a call... said courier service department is closed for the day, so no way to check delivery status. The customer service personnel, Ginny, said to ask her manager to call me.... waited 20 to 30 minutes... by then already 1:00pm. Called them back (after like 3 to 4 times later)... put me thru to Janice (dunno who)... then to Joan (sales rep). The final answer.... she couldn't do anything either but to wait till Monday to re-schedule another delivery! F#$!

I'm really pissed! They are so inefficient! There is absolutely no way to track their delivery during weekends! What kind of sub-standard courier service are they engaging?

I am contemplating some kind of compensation from them... perhaps a discount or something for all the hassle they put me thru and the feeling of being play out by them and for wasting my precious leave.

Sublife: So have u gotten ur desktop yet? i think they deliver on weekends.... they called and said that mine will be delievered on a sunday...
