Timecheck, the time is now 1 am and i have not gotten my desktop yet :)

well i kinda gave up hope after 9pm. Anyway, yeah if im not wrong they do deliver weekends...

well, by the looks of it, today's deliverys kinda got screwed. I wonder why? But seriously, i hope i receive my computer tomorrow, otherwise im going to kill and burn.

I hope its not monday, cause im really anticipating this new computer (got lots of games to play, its holidays for me) and they scheduled mine for bloody 2pm-6pm today, so they better give me a good explanation.

Otherwise, monday theres going to be alot of yelling on the phone ^^.

Delphikit, you still managed to contact them? i thought their tech desk closed at 1pm.. den how? And they cant track the courier service? THEN WHY DELIVER DURING WEEKENDS IF U CANT TRACK IT? don't the delivery people have our HP number or smth so they can call us if something goes wrong? hais.

Lucky i still have my laptop and my old desktop, can still surf the net.

Some guy from dell called, said my delivery will be sent at 1pm today, and he sounded convincing so i didnt ask any questions, put down the phone before i could probe further. I think they screwed up alot of orders ystd, they are trying to fix it today i guess.

But yes, im just happy i don't have to wait any longer for my pc.

sublife,

I guess they screwed up my order way back since last week when then couldn't contact me because of a mis-entered contact number by them.

They didn't give me a reason cos... no one called me on the day of delivery. My notebook status is current MIA i guess. Hell knows where is it now? Guess they were overwhelm by the orders in Comex... but still its not an excuse for this cock-up.

Good to hear you got a confirmed delivery! :) As of now I haven't got any calls yet so just wait till monday.

In the mean time will just prepare an email to be fired to Dell Customer Service demanding an explanation and some kind of compensation.

Got my computer, this time they were early, came at 12:30pm when they said 1pm.

They didnt give me a reason, but i didn't ask also. At least they rescheduled automatically without me asking (or maybe they just read my email full of rants i sent to the tech desk)

I must say, i am more than satisfied with my desktop purchase. Damn nice. Right now i've set up everything nicely on my desk, managed the cables using lots of duct tape and now its all neat and tidy. PC setup was flawless as well, managed to set up everything including router and printer. Everything is running fine.

Also, i notice Dell installs less crap than most computers than other manufacturers (like acer). On first load there was only 2 crap icons on my desktop (mcafee and dell support) which werent intrusive or anything. Uninstalled them anyway (like my computer clean)

Installing the essential software now... windows updated to the latest versions, drivers as well.

So far no cock ups. I have a perfect 19" inch screen! no dead pixels.

Oh yes, and the best thing is, Dell allows you to open up your computer! Well, i didnt notice any warning signs telling me not to anyway. First thing i did was open it up =). I installed my TDK DVD burner inside it easily, lots of space to install and screwless set up (only one screw) making it damn easy to install. noticed that the space given for the parts were also very generous. The CPU is big though =).

I would definately reccomend dell desktops to anyone. Not too shabby, better than other brands, plus easier to set up than DIY =p.

Well guess what! Dell just called me to reschedule the delivery to tomorrow evening.

The reason they gave for not delivering?

"The delivery van broke down. So couldn't deliver."

Duh!?

How about a phone call please!? :s11:

Next excuse I think they can only come up with is... mobile phone be out of batt.

sublife: glad to know you're happy with your purchase. Yes Dell desktops are ok (using it in office). Their casing is solid.

i call up their hotline n they told me tt e batt has dis trigger whereby after u have fully charged e batt rite, it will stop charging n e lappy will oso auto-detect to use e ac power. So we can leave e batt in while using ac adaptor. But to be safe, i will tk out after charging.

But then if u leave the batt inside it will generate heat which will cause the batt to die faster even though u use the ac adapter right? ANyway i charged my batt to 40% and i took it out already.
