Hi, I'm using 700m too. Has anyone successfully tried connecting the S-video port to any output devices (e.g . TV, projector)?

haha...i tried to connect to my Bose sys through the s-video using an adaptor given, to play my iTunes songs, but doesn't work, so i had to use the plug-in instead

the manual says to open CyberDVD; never try, i guess that should work.

have anyone upgraded your ram b4?

Can anyone recommend any reliable and reasonable shop in Sim Lim Sq for buying another 512 MB? Oh yes, and the price if anyone knows.

This piece of 512 should be able to fit into my future Dell 700M, rite? I just take out and fit into the next dell, correct?

for ram purchase, bring ur laptip to sim lim. request to fit in the ram, boot up to windows, then check if everything is fine before paying

Nope...I've just tried and it worked. The TV/digital audio cable adaptor for s-video worked. I could hear the movie sound from my Bose sys connected through the s-video adaptor.

Yeah, I managed to squeeze in my order on Sunday 12 June when the PC Show promo ended Friday 10 June ... HENG AH!

So got a good price at $1,888 where I got the free 512MB RAM & Intel(PRO)/Wireless 2915ABG upgrades plus the following paid upgrades:

1. 40GB to 60GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive (5400rpm)
2. 4 cell to 8 cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
3. Norton Internet Security 2005 - 15 months OEM

Though I thought I had gotten the full anti virus package ... me never read properly.

Is it true that upgrading the RAM will save battery? i.e. the battery can run for a longer time? Me read it in the notebookreview forum ...

Possible... basically higher RAM will lessen the harddisk trashing due to swapfile, and thus saving more battery life...

erm ... well ... it says with more ram (e.g. 1GB RAM) ... the need to access hard disk is lower and access to RAM requires lower power consumption ...

will like to upgrade to 3yr warranty but if i upgrade then the 700m become $2k+ .....similar to outside those acer/hp/compaq/nec liao leh.................. do u think the laptop will die in 1.5yr?
