haha i think mostly the condition of one's lappie depends much on the user...i mean, i got my i700m for under S$1700. If i am to get a similar config+12" lappie of other brands, i might have to fork out twice tat price. Tat logic propells me 2 x Dell = better than 1 x other brands, meaning even if my dell is to die off after 2 yrs, i can still get another NEW one (with better config of course) tat last for another (presumed) 2 yrs. Isn't it better than getting an expensive 3K over lappie tat cannot last for more than 3 yrs? and remember, technology improves like lightning.....i am a pragmatic person although i have to admit the asthetic appeal of other brands may be better.

hey, i totally agree with u manz, act. e 700m is a lappy tt a normal person wld love to get it at tt kinda of price but i agree e design is abit ...... but who cares cox we have wrapping services nowadays to redesign our lappy n dell customer services is getting better over e yrs....

I'm using Dell 700m.

In a user point of view, I can say it's very good.

Have some problem with the cd rom though - sometimes can't eject out with the button.

Called their service... pretty helpful. Even follow up with a 2nd call after 1 week to see the condition.

So far it's service I can say is still not as bad as what other claim.


But still I'm not very clear about the complete cover warrenty thingy... If I accidentally drop my lappy into swimming pool, will I get a new set?

its e same as e hp lor. either g-mask or gad wrap. one of my frenz try to customize his own frm gad-wrap at $88. qt cool n i'm still finding e perfect picture to customize it.

My HDD die after 1yr 2mth... but i replace it wif Toshiba one... Hitachi tt cum wif it is nt gd... nv lyk Hitachi... if i noe it Hitachi in the first place, i won haf gotten it...

My power adapter failed after 10 months, got a replacement under their warranty. Otherwise its fine (Insp8600 btw).

Hi, guys... i am thinking of getting a dell 6000.. was wondering if the X300 ati 64mb is gd enough for playing WOW with at least med. graphics and not lagging? Kindly comment. Btw is there a huge difference between X300 64mb & 128mb? which is more recommended for dell 6000 as those are the 2 highest graphics cards they offer.

Was thinking about getting the dell 6000 on its current festival promotion where they doubled the double ram offer.

Would WoW run flawlessly with the 128mb x300 GFX card?

Anyone can advise me on the items in blue?

(a) The wireless card they offering the Intel Pro Wireless 2915 Dual Band 802.11a/b/g 54mbps miniPCI wireless card @ $12.60. Is it worth upgrading from the Intel Pro wireless 2200?

(b) I can choose to upgrade to a 9-cell battery for only $15.75. But the 9-cell only has a life cycle of 300 charge/discharges compared to 500 charge/discharge cycles for the 6cell. Which would you guys recommend? Is the longer battery life offered by the 9-cell worth it? (and worth carrying around? I don't think i'll be without a power point that often).

(c) They offer a deluxe leather case for $8.40. (of course no more backpack if i choose that). Anyone uses this? Is it like a laptop bag? I think the backpack might be too much to lug around.

Hope some kind soul out there can answer my newbie questions. It's greatly appreciated!

I play WoW on my i9300... 1920x1200 all details maxed, only lag is Ironforge, but after the new patch it seems less laggy now...
