I am thinking of the i9300... Shinji_U if i'm getting the i9300, is it worth it?? or should i wait for new models to come out?? & when what is the most impt factor in a laptop? Cause i know ram & hdd can upgrade on ur own... but processor 2.0ghz izzit overkill?? :s11:

If you asked me i9300 is only worth it with the optional GeForce Go 6800, else its not worth it.

As for CPU, I'm using 1.73GHz, never did bother to upgrade to the highest CPU firstly cause at that time when I bought this beast, the 2GHz CPU is way too expensive, so I just stick to the vanilla 1.73GHz. Its always to get a fast CPU, but gotta balance the price to see if its worth doing it.

Waiting for a new model is hard to say since Dell hans't release any info of any new notebook other than the present leading performance notebook XPS M170 with the GeForce Go 7800GTX, that you can't get it in SG... so have to wait to see what Dell SG has to offer...

BTW, from what I've seen & experienced. For WoW... the most importent thing is RAM :D
You can get a lag-free playing experience even with the old gfx cards like a GeForce2.

(b) I can choose to upgrade to a 9-cell battery for only $15.75. But the 9-cell only has a life cycle of 300 charge/discharges compared to 500 charge/discharge cycles for the 6cell. Which would you guys recommend? Is the longer battery life offered by the 9-cell worth it? (and worth carrying around? I don't think i'll be without a power point that often).

Y the 9 cell charges is so much lower the 6 cell 1, it is stated anywhere?

Dell LAtitude C600 Laptop

Desperately in need of help! Reformatted harddisk with Win2K Pro. Download video driver from Dell Website, can work. But download Audio driver, during installing of driver, Laptop always hang. Tried several times to uninstall & reinstall & redownload... Still there is always Multimedia Audio Controller at the device manager showing 'yellow exclamation mark!'. Also, there is message saying that 'detecting new hardware'. ESS Maestro Audio Driver when trying to install always cause laptop to hang.

Anyone out ther who can help???? Desperate!!!

I also dunno why. It's on the dell website, click on "more info" under the battery section. (or was it called power adapter section, can't remember).

anyone know why?

I went down to look at it too.
But after lifting it up... felt that it was too bulky and heavy :s13:

Carry a laptop like that to and fro from my home to work everyday will die.

anyone wants to buy my spare 256 DDR PC 2700 333mhz ram (brand hynix)? :o

Ohhh...that's bad luck. This is an important question to ask when buying a new laptop. I think DELL even charge extra for a 512M module instead of 2x256M.

Hi just checking with you guys. Hope to hear your opinions on this...

I just bought the inspiron 6000 with the XGA screen... I feel that the screen is really quite blurry and not sharp at all.... I actually using it only for internet and word processing purposes only but I feel tired very easily just looking at the screen.... wonder whether any of one have the same prob?

I just call dell regarding the possbility of upgrading my lcd....they say that I can return the set and they will rebuild a new one for me again...but it take roughly 2 wks..... and will include $60 processing charges plus the difference in upgrading of the screen.....

Do you ppl tink that a SXGA screen will have a significally alot more diff than the cannot make it XGA?

What resolution did you use for your screen?

LCD monitors have a native resolution, if you are using a lower resolution, it results in a much "blurrer" image.

BTW... since my laptop is coming in an hour or so...

Do you need to do the routine 12 hour battery charge for Dell Inspiron 6000? Cos I've heard that Dell comes with its batteries fully charged.
