Ah no, sorry, I was just wondering what to do when such thing occurs. Its working fine, just need to be sure when something like that crops up. Does the spring count as a "valid-used-warrenty"? Whereby i cannot change any hardware for future accidents?

bought a usb optical prolink mouse a few days ago for my dell 6400 lappy. the mouse will hang after using it abt 10 - 30 mins, which make me reboot the lappy again & again. dont know tis is hardware or software problem. any1 can help ?

With my microsoft mouse, its working fine, have you tried using other mouse?

Hi there! Do anybody noe whether dell laptop warranty covers their charger if it fails during the warranty period? I also currently have a psp. The psp charger failed on me & sony claims that they do not cover their accessories even though my set is still under the 1 year warranty. They "happen" to group their charger under the category accessories. Do u guys think that dell will pull a similar trick like sony??? BTW, the original psp charger in question is priced at $50 something but in the end, i bought a 3rd party charger with similar design for $18.

Shared IRQ can be okay at times but it can also cause BSOD and reboot.

wat can be done if they are sharing the same IRQ ? the thing is im using acer desktop mouse on the lappy now & it is working fine on the lappy as well as the desktop(with tat prolink mouse). how to explain tis ?

Try changing port/slot of conflicting hardware to resolve problem

I got a Inspiron 6000. I found that if I'm using my power supply and using wireless to surf net, it will always disconnect my wireless.

Another thing is that I'm using a 6 cell battery, and now after 1 year, the battery lifetime had dropped. a full batt will only last me 2 hours only. Does this mean that the lifespan of the batt is up?
Where can I buy an additional batt?

Inspiron 1501 and 640m

Intend to get either the Inspiron 1501 (AMD X2 TL-56) or the Inspiron 640m (Intel T5500) but heard from some of my acquaintances that the quality of Dell's laptop is not the good.

But from the responses of this thread, it shows otherwise.

Any comments on the Inspiron 1501 and/or Inspiron 640m?
