If your Dell system's warranty and service contract is about to expire, act now to extend the years of outstanding service and support that you have come to expect from Dell. Don't lose any more time - lock in repair costs and continue to enjoy the Dell convenience before your warranty runs out! So it is correct, right that I can extend my 1 year limited warranty before it expires?

I have changed some specs for my 6400; downgraded the Truelife lcd and change back to default lcd, change to ATI 256mb and added Targus webcam ! Estimated delivery Mar 29 ! As usual, excited!

How about it?

I think its a smarter move giving up the trulife for the ATI thingy. While u may not notice your LCD is less sharper, u will certainly notice the speed diff if ya using an integrated graphics card.

By the way, my bad for saying u can't extend ya warranty at the very last min. Cos to me it makes no sense that if nothing happen, no one will wanna extend it. Usuaully last min extend is when they feel their laptop is starting to give problems. Anyway, its good they do. I learn something new heh

Haha, the reason most people here recommend 6400 is because of the screen aspect and specs, its very well balanced even without any upgrades.

But to newer buyers, its HIGHLY recommended to have the 3 years cover warrenty.

~vista home premium.
~1year xps premier w/ complete cover
if i want to extend my warranty, which one it belong? inspiron or what? i cannot see any xps laptop.
then another question, my laptop run quite slow with vista. when test it, the base score is 3.3.

my budget is below 2k and after hearing advices from you guys here, my specs is as for below. how do you guys think? 3 years Complete cover warrenty adds a whopping of 300+ and add another 512 rams. From what i read, using a seperate ati graphic card will drain the battery faster? for me, i am not really an game so for now, the integrated GMA 950 should do. anyone knows if i upgrade the graphic card...etc, will the warrenty be voided? i tried to find in dell site but couldn't find that info.

Hi Human-shieldz...yes, I think so as well, as I am using mostly for work(word-processing, interenet), so Truelife is not really 'good for my eyes' and I managed to get the extra monies from downgrading Truelife for a 256 ATI and webcam ! Anyway, that is why I chose Dell because they are so kind to allow you to extend warranty at the last min !

Which part did you score the lowest in the test? For me, I am running Vista business. Mine lowest score component is in the graphics section ...I have only gotten 3.1 but I am using integrated graphics card... I would have thought that with a dedicated graphics card.. you should be running more than 4... is this normal???

my vista score oso quite low...
stock gfx drivers, graphics is 2.7, gaming graphics is 3.4

wif nvidia latest drivers, graphics is now 3.6 e other still at 3.4

Vista is nothing but memory eating monster......thus i recommend people who wish to have productivity or gaming wise smooth, better stick with windows XP......
