Hi all Dell user here,
just wanted to know regard the 256 mb Geforce GO 7900 GS, how the performance. Is it good for gaming and how much is delicated (128)? Thanks ......
In singapore, that's the best video card avaliable for a Dell, but it's more suitable for the 17 inch lappie, due to the heat generated by it.

For your 6400, u'r better off sticking to the cheaper ATI 1400, the Geforce 7300 lags slightly behind in terms of gameplay.

U mean ATI 1400 is better than Geforce 7300 even the price higher?

640m cannot upgrade video based on Dell site. 6400 is a better choice.

Hi, i have intention to get the dell 6400. Anyone upgrade the primary battery to 9-dell? How is it comparable to the normal 6-cell one?

Due to the compactness of a 14" laptop, especially in dell's case, it would be ill-advised to have anything other than a integrated graphics card, eg. GMA 950.
The heat generated by a dedicated card will probably reduce the operating life of the 640m.

Well, it gives you a longer battery life, that's for sure. :) Depending on your settings and the programs you are running, there would be a life extension of 0.5 to 1.5hrs.

If you need portability go for the 640M.

If you need bigger screen, go for the 6400.

If you need it buy it and start enjoying it.

for light gaming GMA 950 will do...

get the 2gb for programming...bigger memory the better!

the rest refer to Diavonex's post.

but if you get my advice, i'll get 6400 bigger screen for programming and gaming. hehe!

HOW TO CHECK BATTERY

1. Take battery out of computer

2. Press the little picture of battery for 3 seconds

If LED 1, 3 and 5 is blinking = need to change battery

If LED 2 and 4 lights up = battery failure

You can also check your battery health via the BIOS

Is there a frequency that we must check on the battery condition?

You can use this USB to SATA device or put it in an external casing.
