The 1420 do not have a Recovery Partition so there's no necessity to do backup.

What I am interested in right now is how to partition the OS (Cdrive of 99GB into 2 partition of say, 30 and 60GB.
I wanted to do it the traditional way...ie reformat and do the setting during the setup..but the Dell guy said can use the "shrink" feature to get the job done...
any1 had tried ?
Diavonex said:You can use Vista to shrink partition. Shrink the 90GB to 30GB to create the 60GB

I ordered the Inspiron 1520. I received Dell's call today and said it will be delivered tomorrow!! Wow in 5 days! However, I've been reading people here formatting and reinstalling stuff - why??? When I buy a laptop, I want to start using it without having to reinstall from scratch. Also, what's this thing about settings for resolution? Which is the best?cybernick said:What dell model did you order?
If it is the m1330, then it is too good to be true.
