now i just need to install this bluetooth module:

430-1795.jpg

lanai_62.jpg

USd$19 (buy direct from dell in USA)
Sing$38+ (dell charges)

Link: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=430-1795

Review by a user (not me):
Very nice price that i've paid, 22$ for that, that's nothing! and it fit in the Inspiron 1420 !with Vista. It have a room perfect for it to install on the middle of the laptop, just remove the plate in the middle, and look at the bottom it is right there, it is very small: 1 inche, i have to squize the little cable to be able to replace everything. Then i've rebooted it, and the blue light of bluetooth next to the Wi-Fi just light up ! Insert the CD and install it from there, is that simple ? I was able to find my phone and my PDA.

i just upgrade my xps 1210 from 1gb to 4gb, but my vista premium 32bit detect only 3326MB. anyway to use max of my ram?

is changing to vista 64bit will solve it? or it will still limit at 3gb because of the chipset limitation?

thanks.

Inspiron 1420 and 1520 series got this?

Flash Cache Module

as in internal flash memory card...

lanai_51.jpg

dell documentation:

The Flash Cache Module (FCM), is an internal flash drive that helps improve the performance of your computer.

note.gif
NOTE: This card is only compatible with the Windows Vista™ operating system.
note.gif
NOTE: If you ordered a FCM with your computer, the card is already installed.
note.gif
NOTE: WWAN card and FCM share the same slot. You can install only one card at a time.

If its 32-bit nVidia drivers, it should be available, otherwise download from nVidia's site.

If its for 64-bit OS, there's some trick to 'force' a 64-bit OS to detect the graphics driver.
Download the latest WHQL nVidia driver but can't install it as it will prompt an error.
Go to device manager, update the driver and find the inf file from where you decompressed the nVidia driver, it should load and show up nicely after rebooting.

hi all,

i found some unknown file in almost all my folder. namely "._.DS_Store" and ".DS_Store". also, they always appear together. file type is DS STORE FILE, double click on either one will be prompt as " windows cannot open this file...please select what programs to open it..."

anyone know what are they? can i delete them?

cheers!

Hey, anybody tried playing Fifa 2007 on windows visita, on 1420 with the nvidia 8400GS card? i put to 640 x 480 x 32 le... low quality, still lag.... the fps damn low. Is this normal? i can play company of heroes without lag... or is it due to directx 10...

Yep, and where do i get the latest driver for 8400M GS? i cant find it on the Nvidia website. they only support 8400 GS.
