Sleep=Hibenate

Sleep automatically saves your work to your hard drive, and then returns you to your previous work session without restarting your computer.

Sleep is not the same hibernate.

Sleep using ram while hibernate using the space in ur hdd. That is why in sleep mode, it will drain battery. And in hibernate it will not.

I got the solution from Microsoft database liao.... now have to go home n check if my 1420 support hibernation of not

I don't see hibenation in the manual.

You may have to remove some unnecessary programs to boot up faster.

You can see all those programs with CCleaner under Tools>Startup.

but my laptop just arrives last week and I hardly installed any program, already so slow... sigh... too bad it doesn't support XP, if not, already got Xp instaed of Vista

Thanks Dia, I found the hibernate option, suddenly it appears on the shut down menu....

Now still checking on Microsoft forum on the USB and bluetooth problem.... both can't connect after hibernate/sleep mode...

D620: Slight "crackling" sound below (top left)

Have this slight "cracking" sound at the above location for my D620.
Is that the fan? Is it dirty or something more to it?

Anyone knows?

For the hibernate option, I think u did a windows update right?

I also never get to see this "hibernate" option earlier, recently then see it appear on the menu.
I guess it is due to windows update. Anyway it can also be enable via command-line.

oh yeah I think so.....

Sigh... buoy tahan... my system ultra slow......even I click on the system tray for the network connection it takes sometime to react..... Microsoft mail also takes a while to load though I have not much mail in my mailbox.....
hibernation and shut down timing almost the same.......argh!

Hmm guys, eh i kinda goin to get a 2nd hand dell laptop for some work and a slight gaming purposes. Mind if u guys can help me check with the specs mentioned below, is it a gd laptop?

Just wondering. Have the quality of Dell laptops improved since the past? Lots of people would usually not recommend Dell laptops. Even I myself used to. But are things different now? Seems lot of people recommend the M1330 especially lately. Quality better?
