OK, folks, just found out after a call to Dell Support.

My sound came from the bottom right... which is the cpu area.

Apparently, according to them, this issue sometimes happen to Core 2 Duo, does not happen to pentium, etc. Even after hardware exchange, this prob could still be there. Dunno y

He suggested to try this 3rd party software , RM Clock Utility, and remove a setting called "Enable Popup mode" (under Chipset)..... And it works!!!! No more cpu disturbing noise.

http://cpu.rightmark.org/download.shtml

I not sure what effects will removing this "Enable Popup mode" in RM CLock Utility caused.

I'm ok with this software solution for now.

Note: What might work for me, might not work for u. Try at your own risk. if needs be, just call the experience dell guys. XPS - 24 x 7 phone support.

Cheers!!!

so the hissing problem is not a myth... saw quite a number of posts in notebookreview.com that complain about the problem... if it is really a cpu issue, why do other brands not have the same problem?

Where is our "salesman" from Courts Bukit Timah?

He's in the best position to answer your question.

As mentioned to me by the technical support..is due to the motherboard design..certain components fault....I think is Dell design prob...u also having same issues?

Yo. Yea 2nd and 3rd year is covered by Courts. 1st year is Dell NBD On-site. For Inspiron models, hotline is available from 9am-6pm on weekdays. XPS is 24x7 o_O Having said that, during the 2nd and 3rd year, if you encounter any hardware problems with your computer, call the Courts Supershield Warranty hotline.

Check under Electrical & IT: http://www.courts.com.sg/eCourts/Default.asp

Your Extended Warranty is 1+2 EW Plus.

LoL! I wanted to register under Hardcore lah. But someone or maybe myself in the past took the nick already so it's unavailable. Already sent a request to the admin team via "Contact us" whether it's possible to do a switch if currently "Hardcore" has been inactive for too long. :p
