Yea Mid June. From the previous IT show, prices for XPS remained the same. Maybe because Dell knows that it'll auto-sell. Only the Inspirons dropped price quite a lot. Few hundred.

based on specs, Dell seems to give quite a good deal,
but their build is really not so good,
my inspiron has just pass the warrranty and my hd crashed, keyboard key stuck and power adapter changed,

Maybe the higher end ones are better, I hope.

So, anyone can adv where in Singapore I can get Dell parts for replacement (question mark key doesn't work)

Hi all,

May I ask where can I find the modular 8600GT for Dell 1520 ? Mine has 8400GS and I want to upgrade to 8600GT.

Also is there any shop that takes in my current 1280*800 LCD and upgrade it to like 1440*900 for me with a reasonable cost ?

Tks

Swee lah bro. How do you overclock your GPU?

Easy. But you have to be careful at the same time. :) I downloaded the modified drivers from LaptopVideo2go.com, which enables overclocking. 169.04 to be exact. After installation, just use rivatuner to boost up the frequency - Slowly.

I only O'C it before playing any games or doing a 3Ds Max Rendering. But like surfing the net and listening to songs or whatever that isn't graphic intensive, I reset it to default settings. That way you machine lasts longer. Leaving it overclocked even the machine is idle isn't recommend as it will shorten the life of the GPU drastically. =:p

Hmm ok. Is there any step-by-step procedure for a beginner like me? I wanna learn the tricks and the safety precautions of overclocking. Whether it be GPU, CPU, RAM, etc. For notebook. Not desktop. Heh. Maybe I'll try on a system soon. :D

Sure mate, I can teach ya. It's very easy. However, I wouldn't advice you to overclock your CPU or RAM, not advisable and also GPUs are relatively easier to OC and have very much performance increase in games. What notebook are you using man?
