hi all, been hunting for a Dell laptop for sometime hope someone can provide advice on the folllowing:

1) 1st choice is Dell inspiron 14. But dell.com.sg having some $200 off promotion for their ship next biz day deal. As a result, i cannot customize any of the parts i want. Any idea if suntec outlet lets me customize the parts i want?

2) 2nd choice is Dell Vostro. Firstly, can Vostro be purchased by normal home users or only biz corporations for office use? Because it seems to me like their warranty is "office-coverage" and not home? Secondly, is the audio from Vostro as bad as the reviews write it to be??

ThankS!

So happy to get my new laptop soon, delivery date is 14 December , Latitude E6400

P9700
Win 7 Pro 64bit
Nvidia 160m
250gb, 7200rpm
4gb ram
3 year complete cover
and 65 watt adaptor all for...
S$ 2100
so excited

Your price is hard to believe. Dell do not have 65Watt adaptor for E6400

So where your price came from?

P9700 cannot be that cheap, and you also have complete care inside.

mine is the studio 1557 with the core i7 cpu. the one with the c2d cpu should be 1555.

as for reviews, i like the laptop big screen with high res, core i7 cpu with a price of slightly above 2k. keyboard also feels good to type.

negative part is i don't like the texture of the palm rest area. i prefer my old thinkpad palm rest. battery life with the core i7 not very good... my 9 cell batt can only last about 3 hours.

From the reviews i've seen so far, theres both good and negative feedbacks

Good:
1) Got HDMI port
2) Custom designs
3) Optional backlit keyboard. Most middle range laptops no backlit keyboard one so its a bonus, unless ur'e buying macbook...
4) Can't think of animore...

Bad:
There's one USB port below the dvd drive slot so if u got a big thumdrive it may block the dvd slot but to me its no big problem, i just remove the thumbdrive, insert the cd and insert the thumbdrive again.

no issue with heat. the cpu runs at around 60 degrees for normal usage. whenever i want to keep the laptop, it isn't very hot.

Hi all!

I am most excited that my lappie is arriving tomorrow!

Can I ask, with a ATi 4330, is the graphic card able to support COD, MW2? I will be running on Core 2's 2.5ghz.

Many thanks in advance!
