just came back from sitex, U2312HM costing $269.00, but give 16gb thumbdrive or laptop accessories set, and free HDMI cable (dunno why). 5 years warranty still intact.

perhaps i missed a 3rd Dell vendor at Sitex ... but i only saw Newstead & Song Brothers
i elected to buy from Newstead as they agreed to let me connect my monitor to one of their systems so that i couldrun Dead Pixel Buddy off my thumbdrive
basically this small program lets u display ALL Black, White, Blue, Red, Green, Yellow image on the screen to test for dead pixels or bright pixels
i do this bcos i understand Dell's pixel policy is >5 iirc ...
this is my 3rd Dell monitor ... i've run this test on the spot before my purchase on both previous occasions
better be safe than sorry ....
anyway, just google to get the nifty little program ...

the set i bot was 5 years warranty, as printed on the official receipt ...
btw, both Dell booths DO NOT PROVIDE THOSE PRINTER TROLLEYS anymore ...
i got the guy to improvise a carrying handle off the sticky tape ....
perhaps trolley not given to purchase of 1 set ... i dunno if same if u buy more also :s13:

their booth at the front of the hall closest to the mrt station (think its hall 4).

Cruzer is the brand of thumbdrive

laptop accessories set i think its a laptop cooler, never really take a clearer look at that

My this monitor keeps entering power save mode when I switch on my pc. Not sure what I shld do to make it display my screen. Tried switching on and off. Changing dvi ports on my gpu. Still nothing. Anyone can help?

Maybe you need to use an adaptor that came with the GPU, if you are connecting to the monitor using VGA cable. I suppose the GPU only feeds DVI? So need to use DVI-dsub adaptor

Or you can use the white cable DVI to connect from GPU to monitor straight.

I face this problem too. Usually I will boot system first then on the monitor, with this 2312HM it just goes into power save after a few seconds and I'll have to either reboot or power down and repeat the process, usually it works on the 2nd boot. I'm connecting this via dvi cable.

Go to the dell forums and there are alot of complains about this power save mode issue.

MEaning no HDMI connect to PS3?

no ... the monitor doesn't come with HDMI port/s
same too for the 24"model (U2412HM)

inputs available are :
Displayport
DVI
VGA

for your PS3 ... you'll need to connect a HDMI (M-M cable) to a DVI (M) - HDMI (F) adaptor
but that would then mean that u have to connect your pc via VGA (not good if your cable is long-er than the norm) ...
unless of cos ur pc gfx got displayport o/p
