Gd luck if you're applying cos when I went to meet the director, he told me got a few rejection cases.

Oh I see. I agree the fee is rather steep, about 1k++ more than a norm local uni fee. But for what they are offering and their status, I think its worth the money if you work hard inside and at the end of the day, you get your dream job. =)

Hey superman. I remember seeing you at the other thread with the UniSIM degree in some computer course. I was offered their BSc MTD but I decided to try for DigiPen and was successful.

Oh...ya I remember you also. Well.....I believe you make a right choice. Me currently in UniSIM. But very sad to said that, I might drop out soon.......because, I was shock to know the course deliver structure is something like throw everything to you and study yourself. What more, we pay a huge fee for that. Yes there are face-to-face class, but very very pitiful. Per 5cu module only have 3 lectuer and 3 tutorial, like the school always mention this " It is cater for working adults ".

That why it is very heavy focus on self-study as compare to other U like NTU, NUS and other DL school. I also understand in U, self-study is a must. But.....can't be that much. How can a person understand everything by just reading and attend a few lecture that only taught summary? Sorry that for my case, not sure for other.

Haaa.....somemore got this effective comm. The English article in this module are too chin for me...there no way I can understand. That is why I plan to drop out soon, or wait if withdraw later? Then I may suffer a huge $$$ loss.... So currently I still struggle to cope it...and now i am in a crossroad / look for other option.

I only have dip in EI from a local poly and noting else meaning...no Art Portfolio. or math kind of thing. I also can apply meh?

Answering to your self-study in uni question:
It is the common thing now even in NTU, NUS & SMU. Notes that are so brief that you even need to prepare yourself for the next lesson that is going to be taught.

About DigiPen Admissions:
You have to check out with their admission officer first before applying. They are very friendly and won't eat you up. But normal admissions procedure still applies like JC is Cat A and Poly is Cat B and so on.

For their BSc (Real-Time Interactive Simulation), art portfolio is not needed but you are required to take a Math Assessment. The assessment DOES NOT play the primary role in determining the admission of the applicant.

For their BFA (Production Animation), an art portfolio is MANDATORY. It should contain mainly drawings either human, animals or objects from live observations.

Lastly, I'm not sure need to study Law or not but as I'm in the Animation program, I know I need to study the history of Art and etc.

But I really suggest you call them up. Time is running short. Orientation starts on 28 Aug and formal classes start on 2 Sept. =)

from the things you write I think you might have problems at DigiPen too.
