IIRC, currently WDA doesn't support subsidy for Digipen Degree Courses. However, if you are upgrading or going to continuing education, here's some info for you.

quite interested in this BFA course, but am curious to know what kind of jobs will be out there for me in SG? would like to hear comments from other takers ,if possible graduates ? wouldn't wanna spent so much money n time on this, but in the end can't end a good job

Job prospects in Singapore. Not much but hey, you are spending so much on a specialized course and one of the best in the world, you are telling me you want a job in this industry in Singapore.

when the intake closed?

Intake each year is on a rolling-basis and only once per year in September.

I have a classmate who got accepted 3 days before school starts last September.

is it necessary that u need a portfolio in order to study in digipen?

if i am new to this industry and have a big interest in it, i have no way to get into?

Art Portfolio is a MUST for BFA.

Hook up into the internet and start drawing away. The school wants to see drawings/sketches and how you evolved ideas in your drawings/sketches.

Anyway, I would like to double-check some stuff.. regarding the transcripts, I know for poly script have to pay the school to send it directly to digipen but what about your official transcript for O levels? I don't think my old sch still holds records of my transcripts in their system.. so do I just send a copy of my cert over instead?

as far as i know, it is compulsory to submit the 2 letters for RTIS, but it states that it's 'optional, but highly recommended' for BSGD..

there's no current BSGD undergraduates as Game Design courses are only being offered this year.

Well. I guess they have changed their requirement. I have called them and they have indicated that all courses would require 2 x recommendation letters. Seems like the website is outdated.

hmm think so.. it looks different from what's stated in the package they sent me...
Doesn't hurt to ask them though.. they are pretty friendly and... efficient, within 2 days replies come. not like some admission offices that take ages to answer my queries.

is their course recommended for people that of engineering background ( diploma) and looking for a mid career switch? my current job ( or industry for that matter, harddisk manufacturing) future is very bleak. not sure if i'm suitable since i'm already 30, and have no prior knowledge in this field

checked their website,seems like they're offering WDA scholarships.

However their fees remains to be a pain in the butt.

I'm currently interested in BFA. I have a Diploma in Digital Media Design. I hope I stand a chance for next year's intake.. already compiling my portfolio now.

I'm quite apprehensive about the fees though. =/

I don't believe there's any age discrimination, we have freshmen in RTIS that are near 30 years old as well. It's really up to you, but the full time degree will take up 4 years of your time, during which you won't have much, if any, time to work at all.

There are continuing education courses, but I can't really comment on how relevant or useful they would be to you.
