Hey bro. No offense but dun put superman down just like that.

Probably he had been in the working force for awhile and trying to go back to the study lifestyle. Nowadays, the education system had changed a lot and some ppl just could not accustom to it. Many of my frens who started working after NS tried to go back to the books but failed.

Hi Guys, glad to come across this discussion forum. I have been accepted into the digipen singapore campus in the BFA program and i look forward to being classmates with all of you....

I understand that drawing is very essential for the BFA program and I would like to ask if any of u are not good in drawing? Cos, I for one am no good in drawing. But I was told by them that in the US campus, there were people who were not good in drawing as well but became very good after four years, so i hope to be like that one day too.

I was also releived when I attended the opening ceremony and heard the founder of the schhol (Comad Clamaire) said that when they accepted us, they assume we already have no knowledge of drawing or science....

So I was wondering if any of you is in the same boat as me such as not really proficient in drawing as yet..

I have been doing the sketchbook assignment...Last time I used to dislike drawing but once I started on the assignment, I found that drawing can be fun..though its exasperrating when you can't get a particular shape correct or sth, but with this assignment alone, my skills have improved in comparison to the past...haha........

Anyway, i look forward to seeing all of you in school on 28th for the orientation and 2nd when sch officially starts...........prepared already? hahaz.............

to those who studying RTIS, how's the life at digipen singapore. Is the teaching very good? Or is alot of self study

I'm currently in RTIS.

The computer science and math lecturers do teach very well.. i wouldn't say there is a lot of self-study..
but the work load gets pretty heavy after the first 3 weeks of a semester passes.. you practically get
bombarded with deadline after deadline of assignments and stuff.. but it's manageable.. as far as the first year is concerned..

Other than that, the school itself is pretty hard to get to, especially early in the morning..

i like programming, logic, data mining, machine learning, AI.

I'm not crazy about gaming.

should i go for a straight computer science degree or digipen?

ic thks for the reply. i understand that there is a need to take a math test before entering the course, just to ask what are the topics that they are testing on in the test as a form of reference

I did email to the school the same query last year and given reply was:

"The Math Assessment test is a 60 item, MCQ (multiple choice) type
of exam that covers general physics, algebra, calculus, geometry and
trigonometry."

In a Singapore context, I think most of the paper ranges from trivial to
O lvls A.Math while a tiny bit leaks from A lvls C.Math. The official stand
is that the test does not affect your application in any way. In my opinion,
with regards to the success of a RTIS application, the jc/poly grades submitted
are not a crucial factor eg. a previous uni degree, full As + special subjects
and Bs + Cs are judged on equal footing, what's really important is the
Personal Statement.

well according to what I was told.... for new applicants applying.. it's best to submit applications by 30 June though you can still submit after that.. just email the admissions people.. they will give you a quick overview and everything you need to know... you just have to ask.

quite interested in this BFA course, but am curious to know what kind of jobs will be out there for me in SG? would like to hear comments from other takers ,if possible graduates ? wouldn't wanna spent so much money n time on this, but in the end can't end a good job
