Can’t convince the manufacturers bro. As much as we consume, we aren’t big enough for them to invest multiple millions in a dedicated Singapore allocated machine.

A filling machine is huge capex. 10,15m for a small company is a lot. Who gonna fund it?

And the big high speed machines, 5x that.

not possible in thailand and korea they are using glass..
malaysia some glass also.
singapore no one use glass... no point

Coming from a person who eats $18 pasta dish , this is exactly what you expect

It takes 60-70cans to have 1Kg of aluminium... thats $6-7 returned to consumers... but scrap aluminium only costs btw $1.50-3.00... BCRS loses $3 for every 1Kg recycled...

Even if they earn from a fixed contributions from manufacturers and importers... and every can/bottle have a small administrative fee... I suppose it is much less than the 10cents...

In fact... they "earn" from unredeemed/unclaimed 10cents deposit... they earn more if pple doesn't return the cans/bottles... quite ironic isn't it... BCRS is formed to promote recycling... but yet their profit/sustainability depends on pple not recycling!

Singaporeans aren't making a cent
They pay 10 cents and collect 10 cents back

The manufacturers apparently pay 10 cents a can and get back the 10 cents when consumers buy a can

So who's paying the consumer?
I always thought Singapore government make up the shortfall cos if a can can't be sold for 10 cents, like sold for 3 cents, the balance must come from somewher

And.lets not kid ourselves
Singapore doesn't have a good history or track record of making money
So they aren't selling cans to Wakanda for 15 cents

Recently I see a lot of people with large trash bag. They dump 100 cans/bottles at a time. The machine capacity is 1000. Very easy to fill up everyday.

No one is paying the consumer. There never was profit in this for the people, and there is no reason to view it as profitable. It is a chore the children have been told to perform. Except they have the choice not to do it as long as long as they accept the penalties.
