Seriously they should not only consult Singaporeans but also do a Pilot.

which make no sense seriously.

Pay extra than desposit in the BCR machine to get back?

Many people need to watch this.

The $0.10 is a smokescreen ... that is just the reward for your labor.

Prices before and after this schme have gone up far more than that 10cents.

Must had been a scholar who knows the human nature very well. They know most people won't bother to go out of the way to claim back $0.10 so the nett effect is gahment will pocket maybe 80% of the BCR fees.

Can't find stats on number of canned and bottled drinks consumed by Singapore but one site states that For Q3 2024, Singaporeans consumed 1.17B litres of beverages. If on the average, each drink is 500ml, that would be 2.34B can/bottles. Each one contribude $0.10 is $234m additional revenue per quarter, 1 year almost $1B for the government without having to do much apart from issuing the imperial edict. Even if 1/3 of the population does go and use the machine, gahmen still going to pocket over $600m a year.

Frog in the well spotted.

This scheme is very common in European countries. Only problem is how our govt copy homework, never copy properly

The thing about Europe is they got car. They will purposely drive to the supermarket once in a while and do their marketing and return bottles.

I am waiting for them to apply this to bubble tea or those branded takeaway angmo kopi and then chibaboom all the young voters and new citizens.

I see more people holding bubble tea or angmo coffee than a can of coke.
