KNN 6 months was the deadline NEA gave to all business and retailers.
Since yesterday I notice Tian Ma shop in my area the beverage stock is empty.
Drinks like coke is no more so I wonder other outlets is it the same?

That is one issue and another issue is that since NEA mandate by law retailers have to sell drinks with BCRS.
No more cheap drinks, why I used to buy at Tian Ma is because 6 cans of soft drink is around $3+.
Now with BCRS these 6 cans need to add 60 cents so now more than $4k.

Come NEA I clap for you.

looks like thats the plan...

moving forward importers will not dare to bring in unique drinks to test local market. since all need to apply for bcrs labelling which is not cheap and mafan

=============

Ms Corrine Chia, co-founder of The Drinking Partners, which distributes craft beers and drinks, said the firm is relooking at how compliance hurdles impact its decision to import seasonal and limited-edition beverages.

"We are actively assessing the full impact of BCRS on our portfolio. Decisions on individual brands or (individual products) will follow once that assessment is complete."

For Drink Free Co, an online business that imports most of its alcohol-free products, its founder Dan Whitmore said he used to regularly test the reception of new products in the Singapore market before making them part of the company’s permanent offerings.

But doing so has become more challenging given the cost and administrative work involved in registering and labelling each new product, especially for smaller businesses.

Think the 1L bottle soft drinks can be as low as $1 only. Now no more, no see those drinks liao. All more expensive drinks. Might as well go supermaket buy, some the price when supertmarket got discount is cheaper.
