It's like safety mark claim to make your appliance safer. It's actually a control for the bigger players to have an advantage.

Small companies can't import easily anymore or have higher barrier/cost.

Meaning less competition and prices are less decided by buyers.

The increase won't be just 10c on the bottles, this is just a start. Go snapshot the prices you bought in the past and compare it later. :o
Hope we can do the same for detergent, shampoo, dishwasher liquid bottles.. we need to save the turtles!!!

all the small retailers and parallel importers really jiak sai

Anyway NEA should be ones collecting the deposits and non-refunded monies instead, then disbursing operational money to BCRS Ltd. Why they outsource this to others???
Probably is like that...?
Outsourced liao, got audit issues means is the company problem, not they problem. AGC can't fault them and their name wont be reported big big for audit lapse?

Honestly, our gov didnt really think this through properly. The fact that only two non-open refund modes are allowed says a lot already.
Lol that’s what they want you to think.
Now they have a means to track a large proportion of the transient and rough sleeping population - a traditionally very private, hard to observe demographic.

Down to area of operations and activity windows, like a scientists using radio collars to monitor a wild wolf.

Take Tian Ma group as an example, businesses like them they rely heavily on imports
from Malaysia.
I just now pass by the outlet in my area, even 4 days later their stocks are still rather empty.

Probably the boss piss off that they cannot import need to buy locally which mean more ex.
Since BCRS kick in, drink prices have went up even Tian Ma no more cheap already.
Well done NEA, I email them already I continue to raise questions with them.

Like some say this BCRS is anti-consumer and anti-business because someone at NEA
copy and paste UK Deposit return scheme.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...scheme-for-drinks-containers-policy-statement

This morning news is even more laughable Malaysia side more and more drinks have the 10 cent label
but cannot recycle here. :s13:
What a joke guess the scholar at NEA who submit the NCRS isn't Sinkie else the person
should know most of SG goods come from Malaysia not like UK locally produce.

Whoever this scholar at NEA is, come I give your 2026 appraisal.

If want to talk about bacteria for kids, last time we go playground play in the dirty sand no issue, how come now dig bin got issue?
If the parent want to dig bins nothing wrong, but no need to involve the kid, I don't think this sort of teaching is needed.
