I don't why the supermarket near my place chose to place the BCRS machine inside their premise, right next to shelfs with products. It's freaking disgusting with flies constantly circling around the machine and foul smell emitting out from it.

No way I am going to do any grocery shopping in this supermarket.

Cos they make money by renting the space for the machine

last friday was out at a restuarant and witnessed this dino lady who was having dinner with her family beside us. after they finished and left, she came while a minute to ask the staff where the finished empty can of drink that she ordered. staff informed her already cleared away and into trash bin, she replied she paid for the can that has got BCRS and argued, either they return her the can or they pay her 10ct back. staff went dig trash and gave her back her can.

i tell you, this is just the start. :s22:
Nothing wrong at all

I heard some restaurants don't even charge the ten cents which they "absorbed" and they throw the cans for 10 cents themselves

This ta Bao container 30 cents.
If we can claim back why not.

Save the environment ma
It's easy to wash bottles. It's entirely different if we are dealing with food containers. Imagine the amount of pests involved if we don't wash them. It's alot of washing to do if we do.

I still think we should practise what Taiwan and Japan do. Which is just to collect and separate the rubbish by type and have different collection dates.

10 cents can't get me anything here except plastic bag in this day and age.

But it is serious business for some people. Enough to embarrass themselves and go rummage the rubbish bin or take back from the trash!

Terrible! 🤮

as there are beverages with BCRS logo selling in malaysia but only malaysia barcode which are not eligible for refund in the machines

so technically under RSA Act any beverage as long as with BCRS logo can be sold in Singapore but the grey area is these beverage will not be eligible for refund

I didn't bother looking at the law
But I don't think its merely a logo which allows them to be sold in Singapore

Its likely the requirement of the beverage companies being registered and be involved in whole scheme

This type.... either the staff don't care and throw rubbish away including cans or dig through trash for cans later

If latter, guess the staff should be entitled to keep the cans
Or simply improve their work processes by separating food waste from cans
