I am looking at a dishwasher, simply because it's convenient.

Most people commented - oh yes it's water saving.

But IMO, yes it saves water, but it waste ALOT of electricity - due to the hot water and long washing cycle.

Yeah just get paper or foil plates, I use them because I cannot be bothered with washing

Thats how dishwasher works. How else do you think they can remove all the grease and oil so 'easily' without any scrub.

It's a combination of hot water + strong enzymes.

like my roborock also has option to use hot water to wash mop but can be turned off...and where the enzymes come from? special soap?

Ironically, when you choose the eco mode (both water and electricity) , the washing cycle becomes longer.

actually always wonder what is the yardstick that determine " water saving" in these appliances , my washing machine is 4 ticks but i find that the water it uses per wash and rinse also like a lot.
