Or you are just being such a nice guy, you want her to live well, at least have a roof over her head, while you will try to sort things out on your end, even if it means going back to sleep in your parents' house?

Or is your line of thinking conditioned by archaic societal values, that condition a man's thought processes, to think that he must provide, pay for this and that, and if the wife pays even a bit, he should be appreciative because he owes her a big favour, and after divorce, he must continue to provide?

Time to abolish all these old thinking.

The woman is an equal half. Not an unequal half. In a divorce, see her as a an equal just like the way you would do business in the commercial world. You don't see your supplier or buyer as "needing your protection", do you?

The house is probably the most valuable asset in the family. It's the matrimonial home. Let the law run its course, instead of going to the Family Court and telling the judge "I have decided to let her have the house!". And I believe she isn't going to tell the judge "I have decided to let HIM keep the house!". She probably knows when to act the part of the "weaker" sex.

Chinese saying, 百世修来同船渡，千世修来共枕眠。it is really hard for two people to get together. I know personally, wife can be unreasonable many times if not most of the times. At times, felt like pulling out my hairs than to reason or argue with her. I can literally write a thesis how many things she did wrong and nonsensical... But when I was in difficult times, she showed concerns and chipped in, helped and supported me. How to find such thing in a materialistic world of today? I knew, money cannot buy such things.

So, just give and take. Of course, we don't know what happened between you and your wife. That only you can judge and decides... That's why, can only wish you resolve amicably with your wife.

If she would not just throw tantrums, as you suspect, but really protest and refuse to proceed to divorce because, despite her spoilt behaviour (thanks to her parents' upbringing or some defective gene she inherited from her ancestral line?), she actually loves you, then it will be hard, going forward.

Perhaps after the divorce is finalised, both of you will miss each other so much that you get married all over again, who can tell?

And if she has feelings for you, still loves you, to borrow your "love" word, the Family Court would be witnessing two lovers, standing and facing each other, screaming lovingly at each other "I want to leave the house to you!!!"

But if one party is silent, but inside her head, she says to herself "Of course the house is mine, stupid. You love me but I see you like a piece of trash. I have never loved you, and you can jolly well crawl back to your mommy's house for all I care. Now, get lost from me! And no need to hand over the house keys. I am changing all the locks.
