hi, i'm looking for guidance for a new rig. the rig is mainly used for casual gaming CS2, D4 and infotainment.

Monitor currently AOC Q2GS 27" , 2k QHQ 165Hz 1ms G-SYNC monitor. i just bought this for connecting my work laptop for extra screen and will be using this for the new rig. so requirement will be 2k gaming for now and maybe upgrade to 4k in future.

i referred to the entry and mid range and and thought i might need a rig between 1.5-2.5k and is looking for advise.

MOBO+CPU (required wifi, bluetooth, and optimize for GPU. DDR5 for future proof. MATX should be enough)
HDD/SSD - one drive sufficient for now
RAM - DDR5 16 or 32GB
GPU - since monitor is G-sync only, am looking at nvidia maybe 4070 or 4070ti, any big difference between the 2?
PSU - to be able to support the combo healthy in the long run
Windows - required
casing - no specific requirement, but if its those open glass would be nice too.
cooling - any special requirement for water or air cooling to keep the rig cool.

lastly, any shop or bro can that i can get one stop with assembly and cables management?

IT show is around the corner end of the month, will there be promos for DIY building worth waiting for?

thanks to all the pros in advance for the advise.

This cooler master fan https://s.lazada.sg/s.b6Kpx needs motherboard with rgb header, whats that and how to check mb if got?
rgb header is the plug on the mobo that allows for rgb control. there are 2 types, regular rgb and addressable rgb, of which the fan u r looking at is the addressable variety. the b550m/ac has argb headers (u can find this info on mobo website), but only 2 of them so u may need to get splitters or hubs if u want to connect all 3.
Psu is 24pin, how about gpu? Theres 2x 8pin or 3x8pin options, im again looking to get 6700xt as per recommended list
u should follow the number of pcie power plugs the gpu needs. 6700xt only needs at most 2x 8pin, though make sure to connect them to separate pcie power cables rather than using the daisy chained connectors.
Is the 6650xt good enough for 1440p gaming?
it should manage over 60 fps at 1440p on average. on d4 and blue protocol, it looks like that is achievable.
I also wanna reuse my PSU which is the superflower Leadex silver 650w, this one can reuse?
yes.
since now upgrade GPU and CPU, should get a gaming monitor at least 4k to be placed above these 2.

any recommendations?
can refer to this thread:
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/summary-gaming-monitor-recommendations.6342454/
- any recommendations for AIO? (I'm trying for good positive air flow so wanna max out the fans)
theres either the arctic liquid freezer ii or lian li galahad aios as suggested in the higher tier builds.
Oh ya, do I just get windows 10/11 from the shop or will there be cheaper alternatives?
u can ownself install windows for free, its the activation keys that cost money but imo if u dont care about cosmetic features like removing the watermark and theme customisation then its not worth.
Hi, considering between this 2 builds within my budget range, which will you choose and why?
between these 2, I would choose the amd rig. u spend the extra $100 for intel, but u won't gain any performance increase, which is pointless imo. personally, I wouldn't buy either as the 3060ti's 8gb of vram has started to become an issue at this price tier, maybe look at 6700xt builds which should cost (at least if u diy) and perform about the same but has 50% more vram.

u can refer to the high end rig with the 7600 + 4070. while it may not be able to max out ur monitor in the latest aaa games, in easier games like cs and d4 it should be more than enough.
GPU - since monitor is G-sync only, am looking at nvidia maybe 4070 or 4070ti, any big difference between the 2?
the only differences (other than the price) are that the 4070ti is about 20% faster and consumes more power as a result. I would recommend sticking to the 4070 as paying well over $1k for a card with only 12gb of vram is insanity, not to mention the >30% premium over the non ti model which (again, for only at best 20% more performance) is a bad deal.
lastly, any shop or bro can that i can get one stop with assembly and cables management?
most shops in sls will do assembly, some bros got mention that the building is foc if u get all the parts from the store but if u got parts from other places then they will charge build fee.

it show usually more concerned with prebuilts from large system integrators like aftershock and dreamcore, usually diy parts dont have promo. or at least that's what I saw at comex last year.

thanks both bro. i have a better idea now. appreciate the advise in helping to find a balanced rig for me.

so i need to consider
1) if i wanna pay slightly more for intel build vs this amd build
2) if i'm willing to pay for 4070 vs 4070ti for the "feel good factor"

On your current PC, download the Windows Media Creation Tool. Insert an empty thumb drive (at least 16GB) and then run the media creation tool.

After you finish building your PC, plug your thumb drive into the PC, and you should be able to install Windows 11 from there.

is it possible to observe the temperature before it shuts down with HWInfo64?

Hey guys. Intend to get a 13700K system.

Any idea which Mobo to go with? Apparently MSI likes to overvolt by default? Gigabyte seems to have issues too.
