Hi all, am looking at a RIG for 9070XT. Comparing the 2 available ones from Aftershock and InvaderPC, not sure why the pricing difference is so high when the parts look similar (forgive me as I am no expert). I can understand if there is slight premium due to branding. Can help me to understand, and whether worth paying the premium?

kinda depends on how much u value dlss and raytracing. the 9070xt is generally about 20% faster than the 5070 in raster, but slower in raytracing. then again, the 5070s longevity in raytracing is abit questionable given its 12gb vram buffer, so u may be better off getting a 9070xt, depending on how much extra u have to pay for it.
hi guys could you recommend me any setup from the current IT show or other places?

Basic setup will do as gaming wise only Street Fighter 6, budget <$1.3k, thanks
street fighter very easy to run, pc dont need to spend so much also. under $800 can get rx 7600/rtx 4060/b580 system from invaderpc le, which should be more than enough for sf6. those 3 gpus offer roughly the same performance when paired with a r5 5600, though i would lean towards the b580 for its larger vram buffer.
I need help in deciding 3 setup.

Invaderpc - $1313

32GB Patriot SL Sig DDR5 6000MHz CL32 Low Latency (16x2)
1TB Lexar NQ780 Gen4 SSD
750W Thermalright 80+ Gold

Currently siding towards Invaderpc and Dreamcore. But is it more worth going for AMD Ryzen 7 7700 but GPU RX7700 XT or Ryzen 5 7600 but RX7800XT?

Hoping for a better future proof. Thanks
for roughly the same price, i would go invaderpc. the 77xt is 15-20% slower than the 78xt in gpu limited scenarios, while the 7700 is generally not much faster than the 7600 in cpu limited scenarios. if u play popular aaa titles, ur likely to be gpu limited in most scenarios, so the impact from the gpu performance difference is more keenly felt.
I don't mind getting a prebuilt since there's IT show ongoing OR just buying the parts and upgrade my exisiting rig.

Needs: Future proof for min. 5 years?
Budget: Flexible as long can last, don't mind spending.
Preference: AMD/Intel/NVIDIA is fine for CPU/GPU as long as worthwhile while maximising the cost to performance.
Usage: Gaming/Work (Dota/FPS mainly)

Monitor
24" BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P - 144Hz

Rig
ASUS ROG Strix 750 Modular 80+ Gold ATX
1TB SanDisk SSD, 125GB ADATA NVMe SSD & 2TB Toshiba HDD
for dota or fps @ 1080p, cheap setup like the 7600 + 78xt should carry u through the next few years, can get for about 1.3k as mentioned above by schoool. if keen on diy, u can reuse ur existing psu and drives to save some money, then follow invaderpc parts list for the rest of the parts (with the exception of ram, get a 6000mhz cl30 kit).
Hi,

I'm looking for reco to replace my PSU as warranty has expired. Budget <$100. Not sure if the price on pg1 is still valid coz Seasonic core gm seems to be OOS. Tks

My rig is as follows
Ryzen 5700x
MSI B550m Pro Vdh WiFi
Corsair Vengeance 3200 4x8GB
Lexar NM790 1TB
MSI Radeon RX6600
Thermalright Assassin X 90 SE
1 SSD
1 HDD
1 Bluray and 1 DVDRW
thanks for pointing out the core gm550 is oos, will replace it in a future update. good options under $100 are fairly scarce though, u will be stuck using midrange units like the silverstone viva 750g. but why not just keep using ur psu, then only when really need to replace then replace? not like it will chibaboom the moment warranty expires.

invaderpc is using asus mobo and gpu which generally cost more, a high end ssd along with a fairly expensive case and ram. aftershock meanwhile is going with a trash tier mobo (which u should not buy under any circumstance) and a cheap ssd and case. invaderpc does offer a more price comparable setup in the m62, though it is labelled as pre order.

If want to pimp up the MB+CPU+GPU to last longer, what are the options though?
I guess possibly have to upgrade my PSU to 1k too, yes?
Looking to be able to also play AAA games that I might possibly be interested in future.
Yup, want to upgrade to 64GB RAM too,

Lastly, where can I go to source for parts nowadays? SLS still? Or LZD/SHP/AMZ have better deals?

Problem is my current PSU is Seasonic S12III 550W which I realised is Tier E. I'm worried that the MB or other parts which I just assembled might be damaged if smt happens to this PSU. Is Silverstone ET650 HG 80+ gold ok? Tradepac is selling for $99 and it has 5yrs warranty vs 3yrs warranty for Viva series. I think any mid range PSU will be massively better than my current one lol.

Great shout for the M26. I had a look at that, most of the components are similar apart from the GPU, RAM, SSD and casing. If I make both the RAM and SSD similar to M64, M64 is still around $200 more expensive. I am not sure the difference between the ASUS Prime 9070XT vs Sapphire Pure 9070XT - I was under the impression that performance is largely similar. Also, how do I evaluate which one is a "better" casing? Is it mostly aesthetics or the airflow can make a huge difference?

the tuf b650m-e is already a decent midrange board, though u can also look at other boards that may better suit ur needs, such as stepping up to x870/e series mobos for usb4. u can refer to here for some recommendations.
cpu wise, the 7600 is the best bang for buck for gaming; to get a meaningful improvement u will need to look at x3d cpus.
for gpu, the 78xt is strong enough to play aaa games at 4k, averaging 50-60fps in review averages, though its raytracing performance is fairly weak. u can consider gpus like the 5070ti or 9070xt if u are worried about that.
I guess possibly have to upgrade my PSU to 1k too, yes?
not necessary, makes sense only if u go 5090. even if u double ur gpu budget to get something like a 9070xt/5070ti, a 750w unit like ur existing rog strix will be more than sufficient, going up to 850w if the price gap is small wont hurt either.
Lastly, where can I go to source for parts nowadays? SLS still? Or LZD/SHP/AMZ have better deals?
local etailers already have sls sellers, though it can be a good idea to choose to buy from there over going down to the physical store during sales periods. overseas sellers like amz and taobao are also decent during their respective sales or for parts not available locally, though u will have to deal with overseas shipping for any warranty claim.

viva gold series should have 5y warranty as per silverstone website, last i bought the va750g from dynacore it was $90 (staff also confirmed 5y warranty). both the et-hg and viva gold should be good enough and fairly similar in quality, is just that u pay extra for the cable modularity of the et-hg.

performance should be similar, but the coolers may not. some models may run hot and loud, while others are cool and quiet. havent quite come across comparative reviews of the prime card though, so it is a bit difficult to ascertain how it stands compared to the sapphire pure at this point in time.
Also, how do I evaluate which one is a "better" casing? Is it mostly aesthetics or the airflow can make a huge difference?
there can be objective differences like airflow like u mentioned, and also things like parts compatibility (related to size) and build quality. which is best for u really depends on what ur looking for; if u have no preference, just look for airflow.

Lost touch liao, no idea where to buy parts locally...

if u are looking to DIY then its the same places to look at sls shopee lazada amz ....
if u are lazy to diy then u can look at invader pc,aftershock and dreamcore...
u pay abit more for warranty all in 1 place...
most ppl would go for amd x3d cpu as they offer a very good gaming value...
if u are gaming even at 4k i dont see the need for 64gb ram i feel 32gb ram should be very well neff
for gpu on the nvidia side its very very high price also u would are also paying nvidia tax.
if u are gaming at 1080 to 2k the amd rx 7800xt is very very value gpu
or on the nvidia side rtx 4070super
2k to 4k amd side the new rx 9700xt or rx 7900xtx
2k to 4k nvidia 4080super or 4090 and of coz if u have a gold mine u can go for 5090
psu wise ur current 750w i think its pretty good.. unless u are looking at 5090 which maybe maybe also dont need but need to ask @NightRaven49
ur ssd boot drive 1-2tb for windows + programs
game drive 2tb to 4tb this u can cheapen it like a gen 3 no need gen 5
lastly ur monitor look for a 27 to 32 " support DP 2-4k
this is my own 2 cents...

locally is sls, laz/shp, techyard. amz may have some sls sellers too, but most of the stuff there is sold by amz themselves.

good gaming performance yes, value not so much. am4 x3d only makes sense for those still on am4, am5 x3d is quite overpriced at the moment.
or on the nvidia side rtx 4070super
2k to 4k nvidia 4080super or 4090 and of coz if u have a gold mine u can go for 5090
brand new 40 series hard to find nowadays, best bet is to find used.
psu wise ur current 750w i think its pretty good.. unless u are looking at 5090 which maybe maybe also dont need but need to ask @NightRaven49
5090 for sure need at least 1000w, should also be considered for 4090 or 5080. anything else 750w should be enough.

Hi All, i am looking to buy a desktop for secondary school children. The games they play are mainly Roblox, driving simulators and watching youtube. I have looked around and found that invader pc offers very good value for money, so much so that even if i buying the same parts from sim lim, i cant seem to achieve their prices.

Can i ask if the specs below are sufficient or is it overkill for my purpose? Many thanks for your advice.

Hi it's me again. So I've bought a Silverstone ET750-G coz 650 models were out of stock everywhere. But upon delivery, I found the PSU didn't come with a power plug. It's ordered from Dynacore. Is this normal or shld l request for return and refund? Tks

Usually on carousell, however i only recommend this if you are familiar with cleaning, changing parts/testing the computer to make sure it has no issues.

Since you are buying a PC for your kids, I recommend just buying from aftershock/invaderpc, if you are not techsavy, any issues they will handle for you via warranty.

That being said, you cant go wrong with either M32 or M03. Personally I will lean towards nvidia because of features, but they perform about the same, so if you want to save $50, M32 will be perfectly fine for their use case.

Get anything that's a package is good for secondary school kids if they don't build their own. Warranty is often handled by the vendor, so you save the headache of troubleshooting, diagnosing which part is the problem and warranty that part with the vendor direct. Dealing through a builder you only deal with single point of contact. Much less of a hassle.
