Hi All, i am looking to buy a desktop for secondary school children. The games they play are mainly Roblox, driving simulators and watching youtube. I have looked around and found that invader pc offers very good value for money, so much so that even if i buying the same parts from sim lim, i cant seem to achieve their prices.

Can i ask if the specs below are sufficient or is it overkill for my purpose? Many thanks for your advice.

i see a few on carosell.. between 250-350 for a i5 9700k or a amd 3600 both with gtx 1080ti...
100% can play and watch youtube...
coz i dont think the students will take care of the pc... so no point spending that amount

just avoid them. u spend so much money on their pcs but dont even know what parts they offering, does not sound like a good idea to me. especially the psu, not worth saving that little money vs more legit brands to risk all ur expensive parts being fried if the psu chibaboom.

Hi, I’m looking to buy a pc and need help/recommendations as it’s my first one. Currently using a Lenovo legion laptop but it’s past warranty and seems to be having some issues so I thought it might be a good time to change.
I don’t have any knowledge on hardware and would assume buying a prebuilt one would be a better choice than a diy? The most graphic intensive game I’ve played would probably be lost ark so specs good enough for around there should be fine for me.
looking at aftershock as some have recommended in the thread but there’s so many options available. I can include my current laptop specs if anyone would like to know so they can help recommending something. My laptop was built based on recommendations from hwz previously as well.

depends on what u mean by better. prebuilts generally offer good performance for the money u spend, but may cut corners to hit that lower price point. diy means u can choose higher quality parts to hopefully have them last longer, and can also tailor more closely with ur needs.

cheap system with a 4060/b580 should be more than enough.

Would you have recommendations on what to get if the budget is below $3k? Looking to get something that can also allow me to play triple A titles moving forward. Is the recommendations on the first post still valid or are there better options to look at now?

Hi, does anyone have any experience with buying Boxed AMD CPU from Taobao? Specifically the ones with CBX product code at the end.

I’ve been trying to research and some say it’s covered by international warranty, Some say it’s only within China.

Thanks!

i got recommendations from a shop for around this price range, almost everything is the same except for these 2 items.
option1:
CPU - ryzen 7 7700
PSU - THERMALRIGHT 850W GOLD RATED PSU / ATX 3.0 / PCIE GEN 5

option2:
CPU - RYZEN 7 7800X3D
PSU - Superflower LEADEX VI Platinum PRO 850W Full Modular - PCIe 5.1 (BK)

option 2 is $400 more expensive, i'm wondering if there's a need to get the ryzen 7 7800x3d or if there are recommendations of a more worthwhile option? GPU for both is RTX 5070TI ZOTAC SOLID OC. any advice or suggestions is welcome, thanks alot!

I'd bot MSI B550M Pro-Vhd from Tradepac previously, the HDMI port is spoilt, used about 1.5years. But I heard if there is no corbell sticker on the Mobo mean no warranty? Is it true? The shop told me got 3 yrs warranty.

Does MSI provide repair or replacement?
I have tried using 3 HDMI cable but all not working, VGA cable do work though, so my monitor is not the issue.
2 monitors all cannot work on the HDMI port.
