I like this board. Comes with bios flashback button too which is a plus point. Wouldn't buy a board without one as it would mean that there is a possibility that the PC won't boot with a new processor for the first time if the bios is outdated and there is no way of flashing it without an older processor.

If you are getting a board without bios flashback, better to ask the vendor to flash it for you and test it on the spot before bringing it home.

Reading the last col, it looks like the 4080 is better value than the 4090?

If I understand what the reviews are saying, the 4090 should be better value?

Perhaps the SG and US prices are not comparable, thus resulting in the reverse?
if u are talking about value i think both 4090 and 4080 is 0% value...

hey, no need for any apologies, we are all here to help one another

Option 1 is better
Looks like its from InvaderPC? If so, you can pay a topup fee and request them to switch out the silverstone PSU for something more robust

Hi guys, new to the forum here, I want to try my hand at building a PC as an upgrade from my aftershock prebuilt and so far have pretty much settled on these parts:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MvJCwg

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K 3.2 GHz 24-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE LINK H170i LCD 82.5 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard: MSI MEG Z790 GODLIKE EATX LGA1700 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6600 CL32 Memory

Storage: Crucial P5 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

Storage: Crucial P3 Plus 4 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

Video Card: MSI SUPRIM LIQUID X GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Video Card

Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 1000D ATX Full Tower Case

Power Supply: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 13 1600 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Case Fan: 3x Corsair iCUE LINK QX120 RGB Starter Kit 63.1 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack

However currently having problems with sourcing some of the parts in SG so I am wondering if SLS shops would help to import in and would like advice on this.

I have seen that Bizgram Asia sells the 1000D and MSI Z790 Godlike on Amazon SG, but I don’t see these on their price list here on the forums.

Why don't you take a 4tb ssd as storage in a 2tb+4tb config instead of 2tb+2tb since you going all out?

You do have a point.... gonna change one of the P5 plus over to the 4TB P3 plus. dont think its worth to get PCIe 5 SSDs yet, too over priced.

sls shops usually only stock local distro parts, so i think its unlikely they will agree to import parts for a one off request (how would they handle warranty for eg).

their pricelist does have the 1000d, listed for 729, though it is hidden quite far down with other non diy pc parts (page 13 out of 22 on the 1st nov pricelist, leftmost column just above the qnap section). maybe u can inquire them on the z790 board via phone or whatsapp.

Hi guys, I'm trying to build for the first time. Basically want something that I can do some light gaming (strategy/rpg, not higher than 1440) and work that can last me a few years.
Put together the below from referencing some of the builders out there and wondering how it looks to you guys.

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yq9Wrv

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Scythe Fuma 3 67.62 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M GAMING X AX Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory
Storage: Lexar NM620 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB Video Card
Case: Montech AIR 100 LITE MicroATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Super Flower Legion GX Pro 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

Thinking that I might change to a liquid CPU cooler though I'm not sure how it will work with the case.
Estimates are that the above should come in at around $1,500.

Scythe Fuma 3 is fine, no need change to liquid cooler
TR PS120 is better than scythe for lesser money though
If want better aesthetics, TR PA full black/white are also good with almost similar perf as TR PS120

For storage, can look at SN850X/970 Evo Plus/SK Hynix P41/980 or 990 Pro/Crucial P5 Plus, they are top tier, and definitely better than Lexar
Depending on games, RTX 4060 may struggle even on 1440p. For around the same pricing, you can get the RX 6700XT which is faster

For PSU, topping up 20-30+ more can get you XPG Core Reactor/Seasonic Focus GX non-ATX3.0/Asus ROG Strix
Not only do you get a fully modular psu (less cable mess), you are getting double the warranty from 5yrs to 10yrs, and moving from a tier B psu to tier A
PSU is the 1 component you shouldnt skimp on

that sounds a bit steep for a system with those parts.
ryzen 5 7500f + msi pro b650m-a wifi475pckaki7500f is a slightly slower 7600x without igpu, not too far behind in gaming
thermalright phantom spirit 120 se51pc themesone of the best air coolers on the market today, beating out even the fuma 3 as rockarolla mentioned
gskill flare x5 2x 16gb 5600c36139tradepac
wd black sn850x 1tb110viipcmuch better nvme than the nm620
powercolor rx7600 fighter390dynacorematches the 4060 in average performance for less money
adata xpg core reactor 750w125performance pc10y warranty, full modularity
montech air 100 lite55bizgram
total: $1345 for basically identical performance and better parts here and there with a >10% saving.

seasonic focus and asus rog strix are in a completely different price tier, need at least $50 top up, and the core reactor is also there without promo. and imo semi modular is already good enough since u are going to plug in mb 24p + cpu 8p anyway. sure, u shouldnt spend only $50 on a junk psu, but always going for top tier isnt going to make sense in every scenario.

you can get core reactor at 139 from performancepc or 149 from pckaki, this is not a promo price
with so many sales dates, you can easily get focus gx and rog strix at 14x-160, unless you immediately need it

these are top tier for a reasonable pricing lol
the only top tiers that dont make sense is overpaying for more wattage when you dont need or for fancy leds
