Does anyone tried using the USB printer port? Can I attach something other than printer to that usb port??? Am trying to see if I could use this port to sync my Centro to my PC which has vista 64bit - means cannot use usb on PC to sync!

apparently the failure is almost certain, it's just a matter of time.

so updating f/w might be a way to avoid bricking the HDD

of course, there is news that the f/w that seagate released earlier might not be the correct f/w

*sigh* can't believe this, DNS 323 is a great NAS system but marred by the HDD.

why would dns-323 be marred by the hdd in the first place

dns-323 functions the way it was designed.. if the harddisk manufacturer created a faulty harddisk, just change the harddisk and dns-323 will still function the way it should be

i was referring to my personal system. I like the NAS ssytem with DNS323, juz that my whole experience is marred by this HDD debacle..

there's no hd in the dns-323 right? its just a standalone box when you purchase so you must purchase the hd separately right?

anyone knows which file to edit for transmission such that when the download is completed, it will move the torrent and the file to a folder of my choice and also delete the resume file. Thanks

transmisison doesnt offer such a fuction on commandline. the only way to do that would be to use crontab and a script.

what would be the name of the file? <something>.crontab? and where should the file be saved at?
I'm assuming that your ,
default download folder is /mnt/HD_a2/torrents ,
and the torrent files are stored at /mnt/HD_a2/.transmission/torrents
and the resume file is at /mnt/HD_a2/.transmission/resume yes?

i've no issues for the past 3 weeks on 1.06 firmware......

maybe the IP settings are back to default, why not try popping in the setup CD and detect the drive?

Hmm i can access my drive when first boot tho, just that after awhile i can't login anymore, the above error shown up..

Btw did you do any reset after the firmware upgrade? Theres no reset button for dns-323 right? i did a software reset using the web login tho.

Oh ya i still can access my network drive normally, just that i can't login to the web interface..
