Make sure the error you get is not due to disk full. You should either set the necessary variables or edit mlnet.sh directly so that you nice it at start up.

I do capture the pid in a file, you can also utilize this with renice to change the priority value.
No the error is not due to disk full

But I guess as a newbie to linux command, I think I didn't execute it correctly
And btw, I execute thru' telnet rather than edit the mlnet.sh directly as I don't know where and how to insert the nice command :s31:

Any guide? Thx

How Upgrade Hard Drive

Currently I have 2x500GB on DNS 323. How do I upgrade it to 2x1TB?

Replacing both HDD together will loss all store data. Any other way of doing it without loss of data?

I remembered a trick question from my primary school days.

Q: How do you put the giraffe into the fridge?
A: Open the fridge door, take out the elephant inside, put in the giraffe, close the door.

So my answer to you would be similar. With the 2 x 500gb inside, back up the data somewhere, take out the 2 x 500gb, put in the 2 x 1TB, copy in the data.

There are other variations for non-raid setup

Put in 2 x 1TB, format them. Remove drive 1, put in drive 1 500gb. Do a copy to the 1TB. Replace both HDDs with the fresh 1TB and drive 2 500gb. Do a copy to the 1TB

Does your ftp client support chinese char? And also ensure you had enabled chinese support in your DNS-323's ftp server settings

I'm not sure if it supports. I was using CuteFTP. Anyway, then I tried it with FireFTP (Firefox addon and could see the chinese folders but when i tried to open it, it says No such file or directory. My FTP setting was previous the default (western European). Changing it to Simplified/traditional chinese did not help either.

Could it be the way I name my folders? Previously my chinese folders could be read nicely on my mapped drive but when i transferred it to my windows mobile device, it became garbage. So I set my unicode to Chinese (PRC) and my windows mobile device could read it. I find that Windows has this settings problem where I have to set the system's regional settings / Unicode to chinese (PRC or Singapore) else there'll be compatibility issues when I transfer chinese files across different platforms. Or perhaps I may have missed out on something or that I have not understood the structure of how the unicode settings work. :(

EDIT: just to add, changing the character encoding on FF also results in the same garbage characters.

Like to know if my setting for Raid 1 is correct for both harddisks. Why is my Volume 2 is higher capacity then my Volume 1? Why is volume 2 is in JBOD mode? Using Firmware 1.06. TIA

Anyone having problem with the Bittorrent in the 323?
before i switch to SingNet from Starhub, everything is running fine.
but once i switch the ISP, this problem arise. I can use it as network storage but the BT refuse to load or run. No connectivity on the BT.
I called D-Link before and they have no idea. He suggested that SingNet might have block certain ports.

Any idea or recommendations? ML donkey?

I'm on SingNet, east of S'pore, no problem. Uses BT and Transmission. Check your BT on your DNS-323 setting again. Hope this http://www.dlinkpartner.be/dns-323.html help.

I'm on 1.07. I believe is the 2wire router. I'm not using Singtel router. U may want to consider buying just a adsl modem and configure it as a bridge, hook up with your linksys router, things should be back to normal.

- DNS323 LAN 100 with buffalo router = 5 to 6.5MB/s
- DNS323 LAN 1000 with dlink DIR-655 and jumbo frame 4K = 5 to 6.5MB/s

i restarted the dns323 and the transfer rate still the same.. is this normal?
